"MAMA TANGLE!!!!" The bee runs over and grabs her other parental figure in a tight hug. "I have a thing for you!"

"HERE!!! It's a flower from home! Happy Mom's Day, Mama!"

She might never get use to it, the idea of being a mom. Even if she was just like a step mom? or was that even the right way to think of it? She just never imagined herself as a parent. Not that Charmette needed her, the girl was brilliant! and could take care of herself! but it did make her heart jump anytime she called her mom, or treated her like a real parent!

So this? wasn't expected, and yet you couldn't hide the smile on her face!

" Awww! Charmette! you rascal! "

She scooped the Bee up in a big hug! and squeezed the life out of her! before setting her down and taking the flower!

"You don't have to come in with me if you don't want to." She looked back at the fox as she unlocked her lab door. "I'm just... getting some of my more valuable specimens moved to the place that Jewel got for me. The last thing I want is to make you uncomfortable with my work....or worse."

She had never brought him to her lab before, too skittish about what he'd been through and not wanting to conjure more bad memories. But her work was mostly with fossils...and one non fossil currently. However, she had delayed this long enough and they DID promise to go through their current struggles together. So...being apart too long felt like a violation to her of that agreement.

He followed behind her with a tilt of his head as she spoke. He was surprised she'd think it would bother him at all. After all he was practically raised by Starline, and he had become almost numb to seeing tubes with corpses floating inside, or worse watching him experiment on the living. Despite what he'd been through he had always been sort of indifferent to it all. That wasn't to say he condoned such acts, or thought they were something others should be a part of. He was simply desensitized to it all.

" It's fine... i have doubts you are working on anything that would compare to what i had to assist Starline with... "

He admitted, something he hadn't really talked about much. Memories of that that time in his life were vague, like a nightmare he couldn't forget. But it was clear enough to remember the screams...

" Besides isn't your work more Archeological? Fossils are far from scary..."

"Still a few minutes left of Mother's Day....and I know you're still getting used to this but..." The bee runs over and hugs the lemur tightly, then gives her a little card with a strawberry drawn on it. "Happy Mother's Day, Mama Tangle."

The Lemur had been moping most of the day, and not because of her daughter either. She really did adore that little Bee, What ever was bothering her she kept it to herself. But the voice of Charmette seemed to drag her out of what ever thought was running through her head.

She couldn't help but smile at Charmette as she scooped her up in her arms and gave her a full tangle brand hug! curling her great tail about both of them and smiling! biting back a few tears of joy as she rubbed her cheek against the others.

" Awww! you didn't have to do all that! but you know--- I'm glad you did! You are the best daughter i could ask for! Thanks... i needed this ..."

"Auntie... why does everyone always look at me like I'm a walking bomb? It's not like I'm trying to revive something crazy anymore... like dinosaurs or a dire wolf." She knew better, didnt stop her from being upset about the looks she got. "I learned my lesson...."

" Huh? "

She slid out from under the tornado covered in grease and grime!

" Why do you care what they think? most of them don't have the mental faculties to understand what you are doing to begin with. Let alone the cognitive function to hold a meaningful conversation about the subject--- what i'm saying is who cares what those dummies think "

She pushed herself out from under the plane and sat up turning to face the younger girl.

The old Base had long since been abandoned by the looks of things they had cleared out some time ago. With the speeds Surge could move it wouldn't be easy to even trace where they had went to. Exploring the old building charmette would find numerous bots destroyed, laser burns on the walls, and what appeared to be an old Metal Sonic unit left to waste away in the hot summer air. It looked as if the battle was some months old now.

Just where they went might take a bit of detective work! or perhaps she had other contacts in this Zone. But by the looks of it they didn't go willingly nor quietly.
