Nickname/Titles: Man Eating Plant, Queen of the Foggy Swamps

Size Class: Goliath

Physical Description: Charlussa is a strange goliath, being a plant rather than a more familiar animal form. Despite this, there is a long neck and "head" coming from the wooden body, that does seem to hold most of the sensory abilities. The "Mouth" are sharp points in the leaf's head, and a large "tongue" resembling that of a sundew is often used to snare prey. Six large limbs help slowly push Charlussa along on land, but in aquatic environments allows for much easier movement.

Notable Abilities/Traits

Natural Glue: Charlussa's body produces a natural adhesive, normally used to create the bubbles on her tongue to help ensnare prey smaller than her. This also allows for Charlussa to seal damage quicker than most monsters, and even reattach potential lost chunks or limbs.

Cloying Perfume: Charlussa can excrete a heavy pheromone that can both lure in and overwhelm the sense of smell of her prey, making them disoriented and easier to consume.

Extrasensory Reactions: With no known visible way to see or interact with the world, Charlussa seems to get around by sensing electromagentic fields, and can almost predict the moves of others with this. How this is done is unknown.

History of Interaction with Mankind: The Foggy Vales are the closest to the Village of what are deemed No Man's Land. Previous expeditions that had been sent out had all never returned, until the fourth time. The Gatherer that returned talked of a primeval series of small valleys, full of goliaths. Most of the expeditions as far as they had found out had fallen victim to a massive plant that had lured them all in. They too would have fallen victim to the sweet scent were it not for a gurgling roar and the arrival of some strange fish goliath. Everyone else had been consumed, and they had only just barely stumbled out alive..

Name: Charlussa

Age: Young for a kaiju, unknown on the plants

Height: 65 meters at the tallest

Length: 75 meters

Description: Charlussa is a hodgepodge of mainly carnivorous plants that walks around. The edge of the “body” is ringed with large Pitcher Plant “mouths”, with three especially large ones extending out from the middle of the kaiju. Six large arms extend outwards, resembling that of sundew plants, and are controlled with a strange system of plant tissue not dissimilar to that of muscles. These also control the “feet”, which are groupings of roots that no longer can pull nutrients out of the soil easily.

Abilities

-          Predatory Senses: While unknown how it senses potential meals, Charlussa can attack and fight other creatures without using conventional senses like animals, making it harder to distract once locked onto a target.

-          Hypnotizing Scents: Using complex pheromones, Charlussa can lure people, animals, or other kaiju towards her, making them want to stay in her grasp, to rest in the pitchers forever, to crawl and lie in the large mouths for good.

-          Tensile Strength: Since the “muscular” structure is not of normal means, its strength is far harder than that of a normal creature, and breaking free of her grasp is nearly impossible.

Weaknesses

-          Aversion to Fire: While it’s not gotten close enough to fire to see what would happen, Charlussa avoids fire on a ready basis. This is useful in corralling her in to places.

Backstory: While the exact origins are unknown, Charlussa pulled herself out of the Great Dismal Swamp Wildlife Refuge and into the more developed parts on an April morning, and began to make her way towards Charlotte, North Carolina. Along the way, people and animals pulled themselves from the farms and into her deadly traps, becoming food for the beast as she continued towards her destination equivalent of an all you can eat buffet.  With the Governor of North Carolina becoming desperate, he did a drastic action that hadn’t been done in a long time.

Ahead of the predicted marching path of Charlussa, in between a narrow ridge area, a line of National Guard members sat with flamethrowers, ready for the go. When she got close, they let loose, their scorching flames shooting out towards her. Letting out a hiss, the plant monster retreated, to where detonators sat on the ridge. A quick set of explosions quickly buried the plant monster beneath rubble and rock, and was incapacitated to a point where extraction to Mortus Insula could be done. Finding a nhome in the Fetid Swamps, she dwells with relative happiness and ease.

How They Interact with Other Kaiju: Charlussa will try to lure any kaiju into her trap, and consume them whole. The ones that escape become “Playmates”, ones that she tries to go and entangle and attack more for fun than actual consumption.

While she’s a bit more standard for plant monster, heavily taking inspiration from the plant monster in War of the Monsters, I did some tweaks in character and design that should make Charlussa more fun.
