Character Performance Research
In this scene the character essentially only uses two poses. The driving emotional forces are external (what did YOU do, how did YOU cook that?!) where he is hunched forward and glaring into the jar, and internal (how am I going to do this again?) where he clutches the jar to his chest and stands more upright and stiff. The rest of the performance is layered with secondary actions that emphasise the main beats. This is a great example of character performance as it shows how to keep a controller yet exaggerated performance. This is something I have to bare in mind within my own animation. I cannot add to main extremes and should stick to a limited set of key poses for the character to transition between.

During this scene there quick movement juxtaposed with beats of stillness, big, broad motions juxtaposed with tight, softer beats . The poses and silhouettes are very clear and appealing , and the breakdowns are extremely dynamic. The characters constantly have an element of twist within them.i Especially like the way grr interacts within this scene. His eyes create the emotion of the scene. I began to follow them and where drawn to them instantly. This proved to me how important the eyes are in developing a good performance. The eyes must show the motion of the character before it happens and so now my character will lead with the eyes as he turns to stop the mimicking character.
