{Character Development~} If Lucy decided to have a pet, what animal would it be and what name would she give it? What's her favourite outfit and why? Does she prefer winter or summer? If Lucy decided to have a pet, what animal would it beand what name would she give it?
Considering that Lucy used to have a dog when she lived at the Heartfilia Estate (as you can see in the photo she comes across in the KotSS arc here and here), I think it would only be natural for her to have a puppy now that she’s older. She would most likely adopt a stray in order to give it a home due to her kind nature, but I can imagine she’d have a little bit of difficulty training them since it can be assumed that, due to her age when she had the previous dog, it was trained by someone else (and probably older and more tame anyway). She would probably name it something on the cutesy side, like Bella or Chico.
This wouldn’t be likely, however, since she already has a dog/puppy-like companion: Plue.
What's her favourite outfit and why?
One of Lucy’s favourite outfits would have to be this outfit provided to her by Virgo during the Oración Seis arc which she also sported when her training group visited the Celestial Spirit Realm just before the Grand Magic Games. It’s one of her favourites because of its aesthetic qualities as well as being quite a comfortable outfit. Any outfit presented to her by Virgo feels like a gift even if it’s usually given out of convenience/need. Another outfit tied for favourite is the one she wore during the S-Class Exams since Heart Kruez is her favourite brand and the outfit also reminds her of when her and Cana’s bond became stronger. It also holds a lot of painful memories since it was one of the last things she wore before the time skip.
Does she prefer winter or summer?
Lucy doesn’t really have a favourite season since both have their strong points. The summer makes for wonderful weather and opportunities to wear nice outfits as well as holding many festivals that she can participate in with her friends, including her birthday. It also takes a toll on her apartment since it’s only natural to assume that her air conditioning system breaks down on a regular basis. She would love the summer at first, then tire of it since it would get too hot for her to live comfortably.
The same can be said for winter; it would get too cold. Her heater would suffer the same fate as her air conditioner, though winter would also mean holidays such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and White Day. There would be many winter recreations that she could participate in with her friends that she normally wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy when she was younger, and she would have an excuse to have hot chocolate every night as well as warm up by a fire (created by Natsu, of course).
If somehow she would be nominated to be the next master of Fairy Tail, would she decline or accept and why?
Lucy would most definitely decline this nomination. She would be flattered and extremely honoured by it, but she knows for a fact that she does not hold the leadership component that a Master should definitely have. While she’s very much capable of calculating and creating extensive battle plans, as well as kind hearted and welcoming, she thinks herself unfit to lead. When she thinks ‘leader’, she thinks Erza or Natsu, not someone like herself. And besides, her counterpart is already a Master in Edolas. It would be boring to have both of them act as a head of their respective guilds.
What's her favourite free time activity, aside writing or reading?
Lucy enjoys cooking, among other things, though something about the domestic activity brings her a unique sense of joy. Often times when she’s walking around the town or even in the guild, she’ll catch a whiff of some good cooking and will feel inspired to try and whip up the same sort of meal. She experiments with baking and cooking, which is the reason she’s very hesitant to let others (mostly Natsu) use her kitchen; she doesn’t want anything to be ruined and unable to use.
Most of the time, she tries her hand at recreating her favourite meals from when she was living at the Estate, and when she proves successful, she feels just a bit closer to her old friends in the staff as well as her family. She’ll often enjoy her own makings while sifting through what little collection of memorabilia she has.
