Hamid Almasi always just wanted to live a quiet life. He wanted to be a doctor, wanted to help people and maybe find a nice man to eventually marry and adopt some cute kids from the troubled homelands from his parents and grandparents.
But while he was normally even handed, if a bit edging into gallows humor and phlegmatic temper, he also always had a nasty temper hiding inside him. Combine this with being an middle-eastern male in current America was not a recipe for an easy life. Always getting into trouble when his anger got riled too far, he got even kicked out of Harvard med school after being set off by racist comments one too many time, finishing his degree in a state college. Unable to secure work as an actual doctor, he took a job as Medical Examiner in New Orleans in the hope of finding finally some peace in a new town.
âI need to feel like Iâm doing some kind of good. It sounds cheesy, I know, but I feel like I have a really big guilt complex and that if Iâm not doing any kind of good then thereâs no real reason for being. I believe that doing movies like this is positive because they can inspire and be entertaining.â
