#chapter ii.

“It is rather odd to see you outside of the city walls Madam Minci.” Romeo says only to be honest, admittedly he has grown far too used to seeing her in the library. It isn’t too often that he finds anybody outside the walls at this hour of the night during his overnight patrols. Even that young lad Timmie is inside and back in his home before the sky begins to darken.  How curious... just what might be the reason that she’s come out here for?

“Hello,” he greets with a nonchalant wave as he approaches. “If you’re out on a late night stroll I’d highly recommend doing so within city limits Madam Minci,” so comes his advice, truly coming from a place of concern rather than a doubt of her being able to fend for herself. There was a time in Mondstadt where people would go missing, they would disappear after being lured out of the walls. That’s still something that’s stayed with him over the years even if back then he wasn’t as mature as he is now. Now it’s like a reflex for him, every time he sees someone out this late he attempts to encourage them to return where he knows it’s most safe.

Word spread fast throughout the nations the moment Inazuma reopened its borders and lowered their walls. A silent desperation to restore ties with the commission of said islands came to fruit in many nations. Reaching out to those in power, inviting them over, and welcoming them with open arms to their lands, Mondstadt was no different. Though not the most familiar with the central powers of the islands he does know the basics and has a rough idea that there’s at least three clans over there who cater to the islands and attempt to keep order. With a knight on either side of him, Romeo awaits by the borders of Liyue to welcome the representative of Inazuma, from his understanding it’s someone from the Kamisato clan. The wait isn’t long and it’s easy for him to tell them apart. 

“Knights!” He calls his small company into attention as they salute their foreign visitors respectfully with their signature knight salute to distinguish themselves, Romeo following suit. “Welcome,” Romeo nods, with his hands behind his back, “I am Romeo Alec Callum, a knight from the fourth company of the Knights of Favonius and I shall be your escort to Mondstadt.” They couldn’t rink huge welcomes out in the open, their big welcoming awaits them with open arms within the walls of the city. “It’s a huge honor,” he bows his head, “you humble us with your presence.” Being able to mend the ties with other nations... perhaps this is what they need, camaraderie and unity amongst each other to put an organization like The Fatui in their place. The thought makes Romeo’s heart blossom with hope.

“We welcome you to the land of freedom and wind with open arms, dear friends.”
