When you read the chapter’s title, “Vengeance for Katari,” you can expect satisfaction. After reading its execution, I got more than I bargained for. I couldn’t ask for a better way than this. The darkest night resume with an all-out war. Winner takes all. If this chapter is the beginning of the deciding fate of Ryouyou, then we are off with hell of a start. It was the satisfaction that the fans have been waiting for with intense action to display a small taste for what’s in store next.

If you ask me, this has everything in terms of action as well as covering every scenarios in Ryouyou. To begin with, we get to see Enpo and his tribe finally reaching to the top of the wall.  The Quanrong guards are caught off-guard (haha) by their random appearance, so blood shed ensue. I thought it was going to be an easy win for Enshu Tribe, but of course in Kingdom, no one gets off so easily.

Not only the city has more Quanrong men than they expected, but they can’t fight at their best after climbing the dreaded wall. That’s kind of neat realistic insert; their arms are sore, so it’s understandable for them to lack fighting strength. Enpo is truly the old geezer by standing in the midst of combat like a boss and telling these youngsters to quit whining. Quanrong don’t respect elders, so of course they charge at him. Out of nowhere, they all died by bare hands and feet. Seriously, one got all teeth shattered, the other gets stabbed in the throat by fingertips, and the last guy got kicked so hard in the face, losing his eyeballs. Damn! That old man is crazy!

Actually, it wasn’t him, though that would have shocked the hell out of me if it was him. I know it’s a norm for old man to be really strong, but I wouldn’t mind it here. Instead, there are two guys, Sei’En and Seki’En, or in English, Blue Monkey and Red Monkey respectively. Their pose speaks itself. Crazy how they fight with bare hands and feet against men with weapons. Hell, they are weapons; deadly ones no less. They are literally savages. I do like the old man Enpo, carrying the upmost task at hand. As nice and wise he is, he did make me laugh when he ends the heartfelt speech with Mantanwa. Ah, whatever.

While that action for them was only starting and a promising one at that, the rest focus on the location of the main battlefield. Up next is the Battle of Two Kings. It’s one action after another. It’s short but intense with the two on an equal standing. That is until Rozo got the better of Danto, the Feego King, by his overwhelming size and strength. That man is in the zone of brutality. Danto isn’t killed, at least not yet; he just needs time to recover his balance.

If you thought Feego Tribe has a chance to slow Rozo down, well they technically do, but they have to be body bags or free kill. The sad part is their intention is to kill him, but they have no chance in hell. Everyone meets their end in the most brutal fashion and Rozo is having a time of his life. That is one blood thirsty monster. While that’s going on, the greatest man on Earth, Heki, is right behind him. I know what I just said, but my God, can he really do it?

His reaction is practically any normal human being would react when stumbling upon a titan. How the hell you give this man this task? He’s basically watching a literal blood bath by Rozo. “Is he even human,” said one soldier. My thoughts exactly. Before fans could bash Heki for his cowering stance, he recovers his bold status, readying to fight against the greatest challenge of his life. That is probably an understatement. Again, I am thrilled to see how he’s going to win and if he does without dying, I demand a statue of him on my shelf. After covering that portion, let’s go over the best part.

Bunen Army is heading towards where Yotanwa is at, because he’s a piece of crap. The Mera Tribe is already fighting his army, so it’s only a matter of time for Kitari to fight against him. Usually, a barrage of men clashing slows down the inevitable clash between two top tier warriors. So here I was, waiting for Kitari to get closer to Bunen. But Hara is cleverly sneaky and instead of waiting, we get them right here, right now. He does not disappoint.

Kitari is already close to Bunen, but appear behind him where he least expected. I got goosebumps from staring at that single page. I love how the atmosphere presents a woman seeking vengeance and approach her target with no sign of fear. Bunen is with his army, but she gives no shits about it. She is set to kill. I also love the touch of darkened page layer to exploit the chilling mood. It creates a sensation of hell and it is here to take out Bunen.

It’s not even like Kitari didn’t do any fighting. She already worked up by killing his men without his notice. Unlike before, she’s more focus; in other words, far more terrifying. Yotanwa now notices Katari is dead and Kitari is the new Chieftain. It is a world without cell phones, you know. She also notices the Mera Tribe are fighting twice as aggressive, even when they’re worn out. That’s what I called learning from your defeat. I just love how noble she is to her people.

The confrontation between Kitari and Bunen is outstanding; that goes without saying honestly. Bunen is a cowardly fool to send his men to do the dirty work, but her men blocks their attack. While that was noble of them, I like to see it as guards take on guards and let the leaders do their own fighting. Kitari is willing to go, but Bunen is a piece of crap to let others fight. She mocks him for all he’s worth, which is hardly any, and now, he goes out to fight. The satisfaction continues.

The last set of action is the best one in my opinion. They clash with their own version of sickle, but Kitari has serious skills to outmaneuver him. Not only that but she is fast as hell. Her sword stops at the staff, but then she slides it down so fast and cuts all of his fingertips. Damn, that was great. What makes the bout better is how she was holding her emotions for her brother for a while, so she was able to lash out everything into this one defining moment. It’s downright personal.

No matter the praise she gets from her men, she remembers how amazing her brother was. It fuels her sadness as well as anger. Bunen thought he was sneaky to strike her, but she quickly cuts his hand off, resuming her heartfelt words. She makes damn sure the last words he hears is death. The pathetic shit stain she calls him starts running; shit stain is right. In her last words with tears, she brutally kills him by slicing him in multiple areas, and I believe he died very painfully. Good! This was so satisfying. Leave to Hara to deliver the satisfaction we deserve. It’s one part done and the rest is coming.
