#chapter 256

It's been a few hours the chapter has dropped, so now that I was able to catch a break from work, I must scream about what I feel is the most important stuff we got in Chapter 256 (not in any particular order):

Allen is alive! And well...? He loses some of his lifespan due to the poison, but so does Lucia via performing the secret detoxification spell. Equivalent Exchange™

Link is alive! And well...?² I was very worried about him throughout the last chapters. He briefly punishes Allen for making him go through all that exertion from using Atuuda (and I must say I love it)

Johnny has a Very Valid Crashout™ because of Allen and Link's recklessness and I'm 100% on his side. You go, our short king 👑

Uncle Cyrus has actually been Cross Marian all this time. YO. What! (somehow, I don't feel too surprised)

There's an Ark Gate atop the Zoogle Bookstore that takes them to the mansion. You heard that right, this is not a drill: the year is 2025 and we finally arrived at the Campbell Mansion! LET'S 👏 FUCKING 👏 GOOOOO!!! 👏👏👏👏

Lucia is actually pretty badass, we love to see a strong woman again after so long in the series! She also wields the same staff seen previously in Lavi Sr's possession

Nea Takes Over Briefly Jumpscare. Johnny notices it (and is reasonably shaken), but it goes unnoticed by Allen

There's a guardian at the mansion's grounds to keep intruders at bay (possibly a former Akuma reformed by Cross). Lucia confirms Timcanpy and Cross's other experiments were made there at the mansion EDIT: It's not a reformed Akuma, but rather, another of Cross's creations (a golem). I just fully realized my mistake thanks to this translation of Hoshino's livestream. Totally glossed over the fact that Allen's eye did not react, and reformed Akuma should still have a soul attached to them *facepalm*

Cornelia (the tree) mentioned as the protector of those grounds where the mansion is

A lot of sparkly imagery seen in Allen's eyes, which surely is Not Suspicious At All and Does Not Hold Any Relevant Meaning (I jest, but I believe it's up for interpretation at this point as to what this might mean. It does feel symbolic, however, especially if we think about The Pillar or Lavi Sr)

Current Lavi appearance! He's still alive, but not so well. He'll make it, though, No Doubt, Only Trust™
