who: open to allΒ where:Β outside Genevieveβs homeΒ when: two days after the seance
Arriving in a foreign city with a directionless list of names doesnβt make Renβs job easy.Β She hadnβt trusted Genevieve before all the grimoire drama and she wasnβt keen to trust the magic banging scholar now. Unfortunately, the odds were stacked against her independence. Ren couldnβt ignore the truth, couldnβt ignore the article outing her witching-kin and she trulyΒ couldnβt ignore the panic in Genβs call. If there were others with magic, of course they should be sticking together. They need me,Β Ren couldnβt help thinking.Β
Going to the scholars home house was a hail mary, unsure how else she would find her kindred witches without becoming a creepy stalker. Sure enough, thereβs a girl outside the home and she doesnβt seem to view Ren kindly.Β Another short-sight on her part, she thinks. Thereβs nothing subtle about how she walks forward, approaching the house with her dog, Erzulie, in tow. She approaches coolly, acting as if her presence at Genevieveβs home in that moment makes full sense, trying to keep the sharpness of her features friendly.Β
βYo,β she lifted a hand to wave, βDonβt suppose the old bat is here is she...didnβt seem like sheβd hang around when she called. Genevieve, I mean.β The waving hand dips to scratch behind her neck, not in insecurity but pure nonchalance. βGuessing if youβre standing outside her house, youβre one of the women Iβm meant to speak with.βΒ
