Moth to a Blue Flame: Chapter Five
Song: 'Alone' - I Prevail
We used to have it all.
It was us against the world, but now,
I've been sleeping on my own.
Spending all these nights alone,
knowing you're not coming home.
You stood leaning against the table, resting your cheek in your palm. You text back and forth with Emiko for a little, but now had your phone down as you let your thoughts take over. It's not that you weren't happy. You really were. Women all over Japan would kill to be in your position. You were lucky enough to be the one Hawks wanted at the receiving end of his affection. Perhaps it was just nervousness.
Keigo was a great guy, to say the least. He was strong, kind, trustworthy, funny, sweet. Not to mention he was gorgeous. You could make a laundry list of great qualities and it was hard to think of any bad ones. Well, maybe his loyalty to Endeavor and seeing the man through rose colored glasses were his ONE downfall. There wasn't much else wrong with him. Maybe it was the fact your last boyfriend died on you? With Keigo's dangerous job as number two Pro Hero "Hawks" anything could happen. You were aware how skilled he was, and surely no one was faster. So you had every bit of faith in him.
However, you held every faith in your late boyfriend also. You knew anything was possible. Anything could happen to Keigo. Everything could change in an instant. You didn't know what you'd do if you lost him, too.
Those thoughts led to more of Touya, of course. Even after having him in your life for almost 16 years, that was nowhere near enough. He shouldn't have been taken from them. From you. The forest of Sekoto Peak has since healed, but you could still feel the scorch marks on your soul. The first and second degree burns you received on your arms that night trying to search for and recover him from that blaze now had tattoos covering them, but sometimes you could still feel the heat. Like the flames were always close to consuming.
Keigo had his own troubled past; some details about it he had trusted you enough to provide. You were grateful he turned out to be the man he was. He didn't let those demons of his past pull him down or hold him back. Not like yours had before. You wondered what Touya would think of Keigo. He's so laid-back you think they'd get along if Touya were alive today. At least you had a good man to call your own once more. It wasn't lost on ya that you were fortunate enough in life to have had two amazing guys to claim your heart.
Cause you're running through my dreams.
It's like you're on repeat.
Feels like eternity, and I can't believe.
You broke free from your thoughts when a sleepy yawn is heard. Followed by a throat clearing and Keigo then appearing from behind. You didn't move. Simply turned your head still resting in your palms to take in the view of him. He wore a robe now, but you were sure was he still naked underneath.
"Good morning, lovebird.", he purred in your ear. You leaned up to stand straight as he snaked his arms around your middle. You couldn't help but giggle at him. Tilting your head so that he could rest his chin on your shoulder. "Morning.", you greet him with a smile.
"So, I was thinking...how 'bout a romantic dinner tonight. Wanna make the most of my night off with my girlfriend." You let out a hum. "Sure, that sounds nice." Keigo began peppering kisses along the back of your neck, brushing strands of hair aside. "We can do it here so we can be alone." He stopped kissing at your neck long enough to lean forward and wiggle his eyebrows at the mention of being alone.
You laughed and nodded in agreement. "Alright, but I wanna go home and nap for a bit today." Keigo gave out a low, playful 'aww' but didn't push. He did have a suggestion, though. "Well, how 'bout you shower here then? We can get that outta the way now, yeah? What d'ya think?" You rotated your position to face him with your arms clinging around his neck. "Mmm, I think that sounds nice.", you reply in a sultry tone before bringing your lips to his.
A loud squeak erupted for you when Keigo lifted you up as if you weighed nothing. Sitting you at the edge of the table. When you had woken up you only slipped on the black button up shirt he wore to the club last night...and nothing else. Furthermore, you had proceeded to only button a few of those buttons. Keigo was noticing this and got an eyeful of your body underneath. He slowly began to button each one and a moment later your entire front was fully bared to him.
I let you in, you left me out. You left me on my own, you left me all alone. I let you in, you bled me out. You left me skin and bone, you left me all alone.
Keigo gave an audible hiss of approval at the sight. Fuck, was his girl a Goddess. His girl. He loved that. "Damn", could be heard under his breath as he left wet kisses down the side of your throat before hitting along the collarbone. You mewled at the feeling. You could feel the growth behind his robe push against your hot core. Both of you were definitely ready for another round.
Keigo slid his tongue along your soft skin until he took one nipple in his mouth. This made you throw your head back and let out a louder moan. You gently reached up and caressed his feathers around the juncture of his wings and he shuttered a bit as he let out his loud groan around your nipple. Keigo couldn't wait anymore. After a moment his mouth let go with a wet 'pop' before kissing deeply and scooping you back up. He gripped onto your ass as he walked off with you; you wrapped your legs around him. Neither breaking the heated kiss you shared.
Keigo carried you up to his master bathroom. A short time later running water, moans and panting could be heard throughout the room. The hot breaths and heated water from his rainfall shower had begun to steam up the glass walls. Keigo had you with your back up against the tile wall as he thrusted his cock inside over and over again. Soon you were on the precipice of a climax. "Fuck Keigo ..fuck!", you huffed feeling him pulse inside you. Knowing he was nearing his release as well. "Damn - fuck - you're so tight, Baby."
You cried out as you fell over into the pit of pleasured euphoria. As Keigo felt you tighten even more around him, he came with a loud grunt before he stilled his movement. You stayed motionless like that for a few moments as you steadied your breathing together. Keigo kissed below your ear and down your jaw until your lips met. "You have no idea what you do to me.", he commented. Still slightly out of breath. You smiled warmly at him and gave him a chaste kiss before reaching for the shampoo.
You left me all alone.
You two spent the next bit of time gently scrubbing each other's hair and bodies. Once exiting and drying, Keigo pulled on some boxers and you had pulled out some spare clothes that had been left there before: a pair of shorts and another one of Keigo's t-shirts.
Keigo had dressed in a casual outfit as he walked into the sitting room area to join his girlfriend. You sat on his couch tapping away on your cellphone when you noticed Keigo move towards the glass doors of his balcony. Once he slid the door open a couple feathers flew inside. As he turned to face you, he noticed the curious look you held. Silently asking him what that was about. "Oh, I sent out a few feathers last night, that's all. Just around the building."
You rose to your feet and stepped over to him. "Everything okay?" You wondered why exactly it was he did that last night. Why was he basically trying to surveillance the building? Did he think there'd be some danger last night? He nodded and flashed that grin that made ladies melt. "Everything's fine, my dove. Don't worry about anything, okay?"
You nodded and wrapped your arms around his body as you rested your head on his firm chest. Listening to the steady beat of his heart as he wrapped his arms around you in return. Keigo held on tight, pressing kisses to the top of your head and tilting slightly to leave some on your forehead.
I would've gave it all.
Truth be told I can't believe you're gone, like a dream I can't recall.
Now I gotta face the fact that you're never coming back.
As you made your way to Keigo's front door you turned to kiss his lips once more. "I can fly ya home, ya know?" You smiled but shook your head. "Nah, I drove here. Remember? You'd have to fly me home..then come get me and fly me back here." Keigo briefly rolled his eyes but held his flirty grin before the look in his eyes changed to something else. "Hey, I'd fly all over the world for you, ya know."
You knew he meant it. He's flown all over Japan in different situations for you before. Keigo stepped forward and cupped your face in his hands. Gently kissing your forehead before bringing his lips down to your own.
You closed your eyes tightly. Touya's face flooded your mind. What Hawks didn't know was he had made the motions to perform Touya's signature form of affection towards you. He had kissed your forehead reassuringly when you were younger, but once you two started dating it evolved a bit.
Touya would lovingly rest his hands against the sides of your neck and gently leave a kiss on your forehead first, then peck your nose, then meet your lips. You almost faltered when you thought Keigo was gonna do similar. You shared a short but languid kiss. When you pulled back you didn't see a pair of gold orbs lovingly regarding you at first, but a set of beautiful turquoise.
Cause you're running through my dreams.
It's like you're on repeat.
Feels like eternity, and I can't believe.
You drove home in silence. Played no music. You simply listened to the symphony of noises the world around provided.
'Breathe in.'
You felt like you were going nuts. It's true you thought of Touya everyday, but why so much recently? You couldn't make sense of your dreams and now it's like you could see pieces of him during waking hours.
'Breathe out.'
You were startled from the mantra when one of your cellphone ringtones pierced the silence. It was the tone set for your dad. Only then had you realized a single tear had escaped to crawl down your face. Wiping the wetness away you answered her phone, attempting to steady your voice. "Hey dad!". While you greeted your dad happily, your face didn't match. You spoke to him on speaker for a few minutes before the two of you said your goodbyes. You continued the rest of the drive in the enveloped silence once again.
As you drove passed the front of your apartment you shook your head. Seeing that every parking spot on the main street was taken. From corner to corner. Now you'd have to park out back in the alley. Not that it made the walk in or out much farther. However it was much darker back there. The lights overhead at night not being as bright as the building lights and streetlights out front.
As you went to enter the front door you were greeted with a 'Hello Dear!' from the lovely old neighbor, Mrs. Yamaguchi. Siitting there contently on her balcony. She always dressed nicely, her expensive broach visible on the breast of her blouse given to her by her late husband. Mrs. Yamaguchi enjoyed sitting in the evening air until it got dark. It's something she did with him while he was alive, and still performs in his honor.
You waved and the two of you exchanged pleasantries before unlocking the front door and making your way inside. You sunk into your couch around midday. Once again, sleepy visions featured your late boyfriend.
In this dream, you were making your way to Touya, who stood along one of the streams of Sekoto Peak. The spikes of his white hair blew around from the gentle breeze. As you got closer, you heard him call out your name. You flashed him a wide smile that soon faded in confusion. He continued to yell as you approached, except his voice became raspy. Much like the dream you had yesterday morning. "Babe! I'm right here! Look at me!" This really bothered you, because it's what he would say to his dad before. You assured him that you always saw him, though. "I see you, Touya!", you would scream back.
He simply shook his head. "You don't see me now." You shook your head fiercely, almost becoming aggravated. "I do!! I always see you!!" Surely he should know that. Suddenly, you felt the heat. Fire. The fire was erupting around you. Before you could reach for him, to pull him away from the area, his words stopped you in your tracks. That same unknown voice coming from his mouth. "You don't see me right now,", he grabbed you and held your neck in his hands as his made a line of kisses from your forehead, to your nose, then to your lips before finishing, "but I want you to."
You used to run, run through my veins, and to be honest, I know I'll never be the same.
I let you in, you left me out.
You left me on my own, you left me all alone.
Your eyes shot open as a loud ringtone sang out. Normally hearing your tone for Hawks amused you. Loving it knowing your feathered lover was calling. It was hard to feel anything but exhaustion at the moment, however. You gave a groggy "Hello?" as you tried to rub the sleep from your eyes. "Hey lovebird!"
His voice sounded louder than normal in your tired state. "I haven't heard from ya. We're still on for dinner, yeah?" Only then did you realize the sky outside had gone dark. "Yeah.", you replied before clearing your throat. "I just woke up, I overslept. I'll be there soon." You could tell he held back a little as he spoke, but he responded with an 'Ok. I'll see ya soon babe.'
You hung up and made your way over to the bathroom. Rubbing your hands down your face. You washed up and brushed your teeth, applied some makeup, and inspected yourself in the mirror. You had changed into black leggings and white shirt. That should be alright for a quiet dinner at home, right?
Throwing on your boots and leather jacket, you made your way outside. Before you could greet your neighbor again it was a surprise to see Mrs. Yamaguchi missing from her balcony. Figuring the old woman was inside for a bathroom break or some more tea, you turned and locked your front door.
I see you in my dreams.
I can't believe you're gone.
When it's too dark to see, I'll leave the light on.
I'll leave the light on.
I'll leave the light on, when it's too dark to see.
Making your way out to the dark alley, you tried to clear your mind. You prayed that a relaxing night with Keigo would soothe your heart and spirit. You two always had a good time together. He made you laugh. He made you happy. Whenever he laid his eyes on you, you could practically feel his love.
That word was still a bit foreign for the pair of you. Both parties seemed to be nervous to use it just yet. You wondered if you did truly love him. You hadn't loved another man since Touya, let alone told another man as much. You enjoyed seeing the adoration in Keigo's eyes. As she neared the car, you were too caught up in thoughts and memories to notice another pair of eyes watching in the dark.
I let you in, you left me out.
You left me on my own, you left me all alone.
I let you in, you bled me out.
You left me skin and bone, you left me all alone.
You used to run, run through my veins, and to be honest, I know I'll never be the same.
I let you in, you left me out.
You left me on my own.
You left me all alone.
