the one where luna and scott find things out about each other.
A full moon wasn't the best time to chase after Scott in the woods.
Maybe he forgot. Maybe he was careless.
Or maybe.. He didn't want Luna seeing him like this.
Scott tried to run but Luna just caught up. Luna who never ran because of heat exhaustion. Luna who never ran faster than a slight jog.
Even with his abilities, she would somehow be right there. Eerie in the way that Derek would appear out of thin air.
She would tread unsteady behind him, a bit of pep in her step to get her going but how the hell was she catching up?
BANG!
Scott was on the ground. He hit a tree and immediately hit the ground. That couldn't have possibly- He turned around and no one was there.
His eyes widened as he snapped his head around and Luna stood less than a foot in front of him.
Her expression was blank.
“Wanna explain what that was all about?” Luna huffed. She wasn't angry. Never angry. Just… mildly upset.
“E-Explain what?” Scott replied, leaning back on his hands and scooting back an inch.
“Why your heart is beating out of your chest. Why you ran away like I was a psycho maniac!” She scoffed, stomping her foot.
Scott's mouth was open, he couldn't explain himself.
“I-” Scott gagged.
“Are you serious?” Luna crossed her arms.
The moon was full. All high and mighty in the sky.
And it was shining down on Scott like he owed it money.
He did a double take, staring at the moon. His eyes flashing yellow and his hands taking a tighter grip in the grass.
“Scott!” Luna threw her hands out expectantly.
“Go!” Scott growled, his claws extending by the millisecond.
He tried to hide his fangs as they sharpened but to no avail.
When he looked up at Luna, face distorted, she was similar. Her stance changed, her face different, eyes red, fangs bared.
She wasn't a werewolf.. What the hell was she?
He had to attack.
Scott scrambled from the ground and nearly jumped on her.
She fought back surprisingly well, her strength slightly outmatching him as she pushed him to the ground.
He pulled Luna to the ground with him as they scratched and grazed each other with their teeth and claws.
The pair fought and gnawed at each other, eventually tumbling down a pretty nasty hill. Clothing torn, faces scratched.
Scott healed fast. Luna did not.
Luna hit her head on a tree and laid unconscious for a while. Scott's head became best friends with an oddly large rock and knocked him out as well.
The pair awoke in the morning, the sun slowly rising.
Luna opened her eyes to a torn gray shirt and once she looked up she saw him. Scott.
“Scott?” She asked softly.
“Luna, are you okay?”
“I'm going to be worse if we don't get out of here soon.” Luna grumbled.
Scott moved, clearly unsettled.
“Your parents are gonna kill me..” Scott sighed.
“No, no.. I just.. I burn easy.”
“Right..”
“Wanna talk about last night?”
“Last.. night.. Right.. Uh.. Not really..”
“You're a werewolf, Scott.” Luna said flatly.
“And you're a.. an uhm…”
“A vampire. I'm a vampire.”
“A vampire…?”
“I'll tell you more later, hm? We should probably get home.”
“Home, yeah!” Scott nearly shot up, pretty much pushing Luna off of him.
After he stood, he held his hands out for her.
“Agh, sorry-”
“It's fine..” Luna took his hands and stood.
Scott brushed the dirt off of her clothes.
They began walking back to the edge of the forest, Scott having texted Stiles for a ride.
“So..” He started.
Luna chuckled.
“What?”
“You've smelt like a wet dog for months now. I've been wondering why.” She smiled.
“What!? Do I really!?” Scott tried to smell himself.
“No, no! It's an undertone. You couldn't smell it unless you have a super strong sense of smell. Here, try me.” Luna stopped and turned to face him.
Scott paused and turned to her, getting close, sniffing her neck. One of his hands grabbed at her waist, the other on her shoulder.
“It's a sort of metallic..” sniff “..copper..” sniff “old earth,” sniff “newly turned..” He sighed.
“I know you did not just Bram Stoker me.” Luna rolled her eyes.
Scott pulled his head back and shook it before breaking a smile.
“I'm kidding. It's more of a Twilight situation. It's an attractive scent.”
“What?”
Scott must've realized what he said and began walking, a bit faster now.
Luna was quick to follow.
“No, no, no. Stop.” She grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him in close.
“Is it what I said?” Scott squeaked.
“Yes.” Luna narrowed her eyes at him.
He called Luna's scent attractive! She was probably going to drain his corpse and leave him there!
“I'm-” Scott braced for impact as if he'd be hit.
“I don't believe you read Twilight.”
Scott opened his eyes hesitantly.
“What?”
“I don't believe you read Twilight.” Luna repeated.
“Why not?”
“Really? Why not? Scott be serious for two minutes. You're not exactly the target audience.”
“So?
“So, I'm saying I'm a bit shocked you've read it.”
“Maybe we should talk about this at my place?” Scott tried.
“Nope. Then my dad would definitely kick your ass.” Luna's straight face broke into a smile and let him go.
Scott hesitantly smiled.
“You're lucky I'm not telling him what happened.” Luna looked around.
“You're not?” Scott seemed surprised she wasn't going to squeal.
“My parents would probably wipe out the entire werewolf population of California.”
Scott furrowed his brows and looked at her.
“I- What?”
“I'm kidding.. maybe.” Luna laughed.
