[Ā mika abdalla, 25, cis woman, she/herĀ ] - was thatĀ SAMIRA āSAMIā HADDADĀ i saw around town today? i heard that theĀ KOOKĀ works as aĀ OLYMPIC EQUESTRIANĀ and has been in town forĀ HER WHOLE LIFE. they have a reputation of beingĀ GENUINEĀ & PUSHYĀ andĀ people in town usually associate them withĀ WALKING INTO ROOMS WITH AN AIR OF SELF-AWARENESS, BABY DOLL DRESSES PAIRED WITH COWBOY BOOTS, A SMART MOUTH AND A QUICK BRAIN, BRAIDING HORSESā HAIR, YEARNING FOR LOVE. canāt wait to see them at the next game!Ā
sami grew up in an old money kind of family and the ranch is all she's ever known
she's the youngest so she didn't really have much responsibilities when it came to the business side of the family (and she never cared for it either despite her parents forcing her to take up global business management in uni) so she focused herself on the ranch work and specifically the animals
in another life she definitely would have become a vet, specializing in equine care but her love of horses and her hard work (it's really just boredom because she doesn't know what else to do with her time), she's an olympic equestrian in dressage and she's darn good at it
her personality is very go-getter and nothing will stop her from getting what she wants
she's very forward, very blunt, very sarcastic, got that southern charm that can definitely be thought of as fake but frankly, she doesn't care what people think of her because she has never really been anybody but herself
she always believed that she is who she is and if people have a problem with it then that's not her problem to deal with
she's definitely a runner. when it comes to actual feelings, she's always scared of getting hurt so if there's even a mere threat of that, she turns toxic because she'd rather beat you to the punch and hurt you instead of giving you the opportunity to hurt her
but it's paradoxical because she yearns for love, to have someone see her for her and accept all of her
in other words, this lady needs to lady up and try not to run when things get real
she's also very very bi

[ jacob elordi, 29, cis male, he/him ] - was that BERNARD 'FITZ' FITZGERALD i saw around town today? i heard that they work as a DEFENCEMAN FOR THE TEXAS TWISTERS and have been in town for 6 YEARS. they have a reputation of being MAGNETIC & AVOIDANT and people in town usually associate them with a phone call home that goes longer than he planned, the specific din of a locker room after a win & the accent that comes back thicker when he's tired. canāt wait to see them at the next game!
part ii. the character study.
full backstory, timeline etc on google doc! (even a literally devastating self para that i cried writingš)
fitz has never had trouble being liked. the harder thing, the being known, is where it gets complicated. he's warm in a way that feels effortless because for him it largely is ā good in a room, good with people, the kind of person who makes friends without particularly deciding to. he remembers names, remembers details, has a way of making whoever he's talking to feel like the most interesting person he's encountered all week. what he's less good at is staying still long enough for any of it to go deeper than surface level, and dallas has mostly accepted this as part of the deal because the surface level is genuinely enjoyable company.
he came to hockey later than almost anyone at this level. the discourse ran loud for years because of it, the question marks, the potential narrative, the takes that had decided what he was before he'd finished becoming it. he sat with all of it in the specific way someone does when they're too proud to admit it stings and too stubborn to let it go. the numbers this past season have started saying things that are harder to argue with, and he is not interested in being gracious about that. he was right. it just took a while for everyone else to catch up.
dallas suits him. he moves through it like someone who has made a deliberate decision to enjoy his life, and largely succeeds. he's social in the way that comes naturally rather than effortfully, the kind of person who ends up at things without entirely meaning to and leaves later than he planned. there's a dog who takes up the whole backseat of his car. there are sunday dinners that are non-negotiable regardless of what else is going on. there are two people ten minutes away who have followed him across the world twice without being asked, and the way he talks about them, when he does, tells you more about him than most things he'd willingly offer.
the commitment issues are real and he knows it. he doesn't pretend otherwise, doesn't sell anyone a version of himself that includes a future he's not going to show up for. what he can't fully account for is where it comes from ā or more accurately, he can account for it and just hasn't found a version of that conversation he's willing to have. he moves through relationships the way he moves through everything, fully present until he isn't, and the people who've been on the receiving end of that would tell you the worst part is that he's never cruel about it. it would almost be easier if he were.
there's a version of him dallas doesn't get. it surfaces in the way he talks about melbourne with people he actually trusts, in the jersey number nobody here has ever thought to ask about, in the accent coming back thicker on certain phone calls before he's even noticed it happening. the warmth is real, the charm is real, the genuine interest in whoever he's talking to is real. but there's a difference between fitz being generous with his presence and fitz actually letting someone in, and most people in dallas have only ever been offered the first one.
he is, by his own account, fine. the ambition that drove him through a canadian winter learning a sport he had no business being good at hasn't gone anywhere, it's just got quieter and more certain. dallas is starting to feel familiar in a way that's different from the places he's lived before, and he's not entirely sure what to do with that yet. he's starting to think he might want to find out.

BIOGRAPHY with mentions of drunk driving, drinking while pregnant, neglect and abuse (emotional)
lela came into this world in the form of an emergency c-section after her mother had totaled her car driving drunk after a night out celebrating the end of her pregnancy. it was a miracle that she was born and even a bigger miracle that she was born healthy. her mother immediately signed over her rights to her father who had just found out about his daughter only hours before as he was the emergency contact listed.Ā
growing up in a household that wasnāt entirely loving wasnāt easy on a child like lela. she stayed in the background like a flower wilting in the dead of winter. it was easy when you were quiet. she was never free from the abuse that followed but she remained positive - hopeful for a change that would never come.Ā instead she focused on her art which brought her an immense amount of joy. she sees the world in a different light than most and that shines through the art that she makes. she wants people to see the world in the way that she does.
despite the hardships that they faced, lela found herself excelling in school and even contemplated going off to college but after graduation, she couldnāt leave. dallas was her home and despite the trials and trauma that she experienced, she couldnāt leave. recently, her father lost his job and her mother came to her begging for her help with the bills and to keep the lights on. come to find out, the savings that she had thought her parents had were gone out the window over the years to a gambling addiction that nobody knew about. she was working as a barista but that wouldn't cut it so she found a job through a friend as a stripper where she knew she could make the money she needed quick. she dreams of making it big in the art and photography world and has sent her work to a dozen of different places to get seen but she hasn't had her big break yet. so for now, she continues to work hard at her art and won't stop until she makes it.
HEADCANONS
lela can talk your ear off about any horror movie there is. when she needed an escape from her life, she found them in horror movies. something about killings (call her a psycho) was a comfort to her.Ā
her love language is physical touches and words of affirmation. she has always been the touchy feeling kind of girl and it brings her a comfort. she also likes to tell people how proud of them she is or give compliments to strangers. she also loves it when someone tells her what a good job she is doing.Ā
her biggest passion is painting and you can usually find her with some type of paint on her body at any given point. lately, though, she has gotten into photography and has found a new - and different - love for art.

trigger warnings: physical abuse and drug addiction
growing up, jt never really knew his mom. she dipped when he had just been a baby, leaving him alone with his father
his father is absolute scum of the earth and loves blaming jt for everything, whether it was actually his fault or not. it got to the point that he laid hands on jt and jt grew up believing he deserved it
he had a lot of pent up anger and resentment because of it so when the hockey coach in the public school he had went to suggested him to try out for the team, that probably saved his life because it gave jt both an outlet and a purpose
he put his all into it because he didn't really have anything else to do. he hated staying at home, he hated being around his father and when he got a scholarship to play hockey at a university, jt took it immediately. he didn't even care where he would go to school, as long as he got to do hockey
and as long as it meant he would be away from the father he had finally stood up against
jt's a little messed up because of it but he doesn't like to dwell on things at all
he doesn't like remembering and he's an avoidant to his core. he'd rather pretend nothing happened rather than having to talk about it because frankly, i don't think he has completely come to terms with everything that happened in his childhood
you'd think he would actually spend lots of money but if it's not for some good food, some tats, some weed and drinking here and there, he's very stingy with his money
he definitely doesn't want to lose his money any time soon so he makes sure he has a good chunk of savings
he's very brash, doesn't care about a lot of people, definitely can be an asshole. he's the team's resident bad boy who's probably on tabloids if those were still a thing because he just doesn't care about what people think about him if it's off the ice
whether he's sleeping around or being a public menace, as long as it doesn't hurt people, he'll be fine
i'm sorry in advance when he acts like an asshole. it's just his default setting omg

trigger warnings: drug abuse, alcoholism, parental neglect
zee was the youngest daughter to a family with parents who had no business being parents
her mom was the town whore, her dad was the local alcoholic, both were addicts who took every opportunity to fight. it just wasn't a pretty sight, especially because they all lived in a shitty trailer home that couldn't really fit all of them on the outskirts of the city
zee took every opportunity she could to be out of the house because she hated being around her parents
while her siblings were good people in her eyes, she knew they were dealing with their parents in their own way too
instead of their circumstances bringing them together, it kind of made all of them a bit distant from each other
from a young age, zee realized the importance of money. she understood that she needed it if she wanted to survive, and she didn't have the luxury of it at all, and probably never will
despite that though, she does have one passion: music. she loves to sing. she loves to write songs and every chance she could get
she also has the talent of being able to pick up a musical instrument after fiddling with it for a bit
incredibly musically talented, whip smart and tenacious, this girl didn't go to college though, instead just going straight to work
she has always juggled multiple jobs but this has to be the worst it's gotten, just because she's also putting herself first and actively trying to pursue her dream of becoming a country singer
she's very much a sweetheart, but she can be very scrappy if need be. people seem to love underestimating her because they don't know what she has gone through going up
not the most trusting, especially after what she has gone through, and can be cynical but most people don't even see that part of her. they just see the 'customer service' side she shows everyone but it's also a coping mechanism because she definitely doesn't want people to get close to her. she doesn't have time for all of that
your character probably met her from one of her many, many jobs

trigger warning: parental neglect
savannah du pont had a silver spoon in her mouth the second her mother realized that she was going to have a daughter. the first and only daughter in her family, savannah was severely spoiled
however, being spoiled came with a downside because they're so old money that her parents grew tired of being parents real quick. they didn't want that responsibility, especially when they had so many responsibilities of their own with their jobs which meant they were never around
this meant savannah looked up to her two brothers so much, always trying to tag along with them
it brought up some resentment as well because though their parents were rarely around, when they were around, they were so critical, especially her mother. while savannah might even be considered a daddy's girl, she and her mother clash every chance they get
her mother always has a biting comment ready, whether it's savannah's hair, her choices in life or her weight and at this point, savannah has learned to tune it all out because she already got into a deep rut because of her mother growing up, all the expectations that were thrust upon her that even now she can't escape from, and she's a lot stronger in spirit now and she absolutely refuses to let her mother win
her father owns the dallas outlaws just because he loves american football a little too much and he has money to burn
despite all that though she's still such a sweetheart. she can be a little dense, a little out of touch, sometimes can even be classified as a dumb blonde, but she has a big heart, is incredibly loving and is loyal through and through
literally not the smartest cookie in the world like please don't ask her to do math because she will cry
she's an incredibly talented dancer and choreographer. hence, how she became captain of the dallas outlaws cheer team, her proudest achievement, and she doesn't even care if people say that her family's name is what got her to this position because she knows it was purely her talent and her drive, not based on influence

ā ⸻  THE STORY.
trigger warnings : immigration, financial i nstability, childhood instability, parentification, injury / rehabilitation mention, emotional avoidance, family conflict, reckless behaviour, unstable housing mention, classism, and self - sabotage
isabela was born in são paulo, brazil, in a home that was never quiet for long. there was always music playing somewhere, someone talking over someone else, the smell of food drifting through too-small rooms, and the low, familiar hum of survival running underneath everything.
her parents worked long hours, often taking whatever jobs they could to keep the family steady, which meant Isa learned young that love did not always look soft. sometimes it looked like tired hands, rushed dinners, bills spread across the table, and her older brother mateo making sure she ate, got to school, and stayed out of trouble while pretending he was not still a kid himself. she loves him fiercely for everything he gave up for her, but she also resented how easily he slipped into protector mode, like her life was another game he had to manage from behind the plate.
because of that, mateo became more than just her brother. he was part guardian, part best friend, part enemy when he got too bossy, and one of the first people Isa learned how to fight with honestly. their bond was loud, loyal, and complicated from the start. teo helped raise her, but isa never let him forget that she was not his responsibility forever.
where mateo found his rhythm in sports, isa found hers in the organized chaos of her tios auto shop. she spent hours tucked between toolboxes, old tires, and open hoods, watching her tio work until the language of engines started to make more sense than most people did. she learned the difference between a temporary fix and a real repair, how to listen for what was wrong before anyone else noticed it, and how patience could turn a dead engine over again.
by the time other kids were still figuring out what they wanted to be, isa already knew the feel of motor oil under her nails and the satisfaction of making something broken move again. mechanics became more than a skill; it became the first place she ever felt useful, capable, and completely herself.
when the rivera left brazil for miami in 2009, isa was old enough to understand that everything was changing but too young to have any say in it.
but, in hindsight, the move cracked her world open. suddenly, she was caught between languages, cultures, expectations, and so many versions of herself that she didn't know who to be. portuguese stayed in her mouth like home, english became necessity, and spanish slipped into her life through friends, neighbours, and the rhythm of miami itself. she adapted quickly on the outside, but underneath it all, isa always felt a little unmoored. she became good at making friends, good at making people laugh, good at seeming easier than she actually was. if she did not know where she belonged, she could at least make herself wanted wherever she landed.
cars became one of the few things that made sense to her. engines were straight-forward in a way people rarely were. if something was wrong, there was a reason. if something broke, you could trace the damage, take it apart, clean your hands, and try to make it run again.
isa started hanging around garages once mateo was busier with baseball, first because she liked the noise and the freedom, then because she realized she had a natural eye for mechanics. it also gave her something solid at a time when everything else in her life felt temporary. while mateo chased baseball, isa chased motion in her own way, restless for something she could not name.
by the time mateoās career took him through instability, injuries, couches, minor league uncertainty, and eventually dallas, isa had seen nearly every version of him.
she saw the exhausted brother who still insisted he was fine. the proud one who would rather suffer in silence then admit he was scared. the patient in rehab pretending his knee injury had not shaken him to his core. she knew his tells better than almost anyone, and because of that, she never bought the calm, unreadable act the way everyone else did. to isa, mateo was never just the respected catcher or the steady clubhouse presence. he was still teo, her teo. the boy who helped raise her, the man who carried too much, and the brother she could annoy into honesty when no one else could get close.
isa first came to dallas in may of 2020, during a period when her own life was starting to feel too tight around her. whether she told herself she was there for mateo, for a fresh start, or just because she had nowhere better to go, the truth? it's that it was probably all three.
dallas had heat, noise, sports, money, pride, and enough chaos to keep her distracted. but isa never stayed still easily. after only a short stretch in the city, she left again, spending the next few years moving from place to place, picking up work where she could, meeting people she probably should not have trusted, learning how to survive in unfamiliar cities, and collecting stories she only tells when she is drunk, tired, or trying to avoid talking about something more important.
those years made her worldly, but they did not necessarily make her settled. isa learned how to flirt her way into a room, talk her way out of trouble, fix a car in three languages, and leave before anyone could ask too much of her.
in august of 2023, isa returned to dallas, because she missed her brother. she found work as a mechanic at high gear auto, a place that suited her better than she expected. the job gave her routine without making her feel trapped, noise without too many questions, and something to do with her hands when her thoughts got too loud.
isa is trying to convince herself that dallas is just another stop, another temporary chapter, another place she can leave if things get too real. but mateo is here. work is here. pieces of a life are starting to gather around her whether she asked for them or not. for the first time in years, staying might be the scarier choice than running. and for a girl who has spent most of her life chasing motion, isa may finally have to figure out who she is when she stops moving.
ā ⸻  HEADCANONS.
isa keeps a tiny são paulo keychain on her car keys. it is scratched to hell and barely readable now, but she refuses to replace it.
she learned most of her mechanic skills by watching her uncle first, then annoying him with questions until he finally handed her tools just to shut her up.
she drinks iced coffee at all hours of the day, even when it has gone watery and warm from sitting out too long.
isa curses mostly in portuguese when she is angry, but switches to english when she wants someone to understand exactly how mad she is.
she has a messy little collection of souvenirs from everywhere she travelled between 2020 and 2023: matchbooks, hotel pens, postcards, ticket stubs, cheap jewelry, and foreign coins she never bothered to exchange.
she keeps a spare hoodie or jacket in the backseat of her car because she is constantly forgetting to dress for the weather.

biographical
medicine had never been something anticipated for thalia.
she'd spent her early life playing soccer- competitive as anything, pushing herself hard for the sport, but it's because she loved it. as a kid and young teen, her whole world was soccer- almost all of her friends came from playing on the team, and there was nothing better than an after school game.
soccer wasn't just a sport. her parents fought at home, her dad drank, and money was tight. any soccer equipment she bought was saved for over a year. but it was worth it, because soccer also brought her a community. friends on the team. a coach who mentored her. the support she didn't have.
by high school, thalia was looking at going pro. her coach had become a figure she could look up to, who helped her when things got difficult. soccer was everything to her, and passion had been turning into success. at games, she'd start to notice scouts, get emails from schools with good programs...
she'd assumed that she'd have a future in soccer.
but during junior year, things changed. the money ran out (or, really, her mother finally left her father and took everything but her daughter). she had to quit soccer suddenly, started working somewhere small downtown just to keep herself afloat.
rumors started up quick. the split was her fault. she was caught stealing. she was doping and got caught. sleeping with the coach and admin found out. she was-
she kept her head down, because trying to keep herself going while her family fell apart was difficult enough without her reputation falling into pieces. people whispered when she walked by, and defending herself felt like too much when her friends and her mentor distanced themselves in order to not get caught in the crossfire.
her only goal was to get out of texas.
she found herself at a small college in the northeast. knew she had to find a way to support herself, and medicine seemed like it'd pay off well. and more that, she found herself enjoying it.
the er is busy. the rush is exhilarating, and she doesn't need to be the best- just needs to be capable and competent. she'd found friends up at college, hoped she'd placed roots down during med school.
and then their residency matches came in. every program she'd hoped to land in was close, or at least in nearby states. instead, she'd opened the envelope and saw the words she'd dreaded the most: dallas, texas.
she's been back in dallas for eight months.
people who remember her are still distant. she still keeps her head down, works hard and avoids most people who she used to know. coming back has brought back most of her high school anxieties and insecurities back. she's quieter and just hoping that the time will pass by quick.
