- She keeps her chestnut brown hair short and her face bare, though she does have some sweet sideburns.

- She is a practiced brewer and an expert cardsharp, and often can be found in her downtime taking other Chainlink’s money in games of chance over drink. To Cherry, the Chain is her family.

- She hates the ways of her fellow Dwarves in capturing and keeping slaves, and despises Ajax for facilitating such injustice. If she didn’t hate Ajax before Blackbottom, she sure does now.

- As a Vaslorian, she is devoted to the Chivalric ideal of Truth, and strongly believes in the maxim: “The Truth will out.”

- Cherry is crass, and speaks her mind even when it is not to her social advantage. She is practically minded to a fault.

- She joined the Chain in Blackbottom around the same time as Sweet. She is extremely hesitant to speak on her past, even more than the other Chainlinks. Once, while extremely drunk, she shared that she had left her past behind after waking in a shallow grave, seemingly resurrected after the explosion that killed her family.

- During her service to the Chain, she became an assistant to Staff Sorcerer Nails, developing evocation and abjuration magic useful for combat on the battlefield and protecting her fellow Chainlinks.

As DApps continue to develop and evolve, Scroll Foundation, known for its zkEVM-based zkRollup – Ethereum’s counterpart – has announced a strategic partnership with Chainlink Labs.

This collaboration will accelerate the development of the Scroll ecosystem, providing builders with low-cost and reliable oracle services that allow smart contracts to automate the transfer of data between Scroll and outside systems.

The key component of this partnership is Scroll’s participation in the Chainlink SCALE program. And, with a clear goal: bolster the adoption rate of its zkEVM scaling solution, ensuring a seamless and enhanced experience for developers working within Ethereum’s framework:

“This deployment of resources will help Scroll realize its vision of scaling Ethereum in an open and community-driven manner while giving its ecosystem developers access to a wide range of reliable and low-cost oracle services for an extended period of time.”

Haichen Shen, head of engineering and co-founder of Scroll, further highlighted the partnership’s mission, stating “With its focus on Ethereum scalability and security, Scroll is the default destination for DeFi applications that need Chainlink oracles to function.”

Adding weight to this collaboration, Scroll has committed to absorb specific operating expenses of Chainlink oracle nodes. This financial backing will augment the network, providing it with diverse Data Feeds and a wider range of oracle services.

Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, emphasized the partnership’s potential, stating, “By aligning the Chainlink and Scroll ecosystems, this collaboration supports developer innovation and fosters the creation of applications that underpin the long-term growth of the Scroll ecosystem.”

Chainlink’s SCALE initiative aims to shape the future of oracle infrastructure, offering L1s/L2s unwavering access to top-tier oracle services. This strategy seeks to strengthen the Scroll ecosystem while optimizing operational costs for Chainlink’s oracle nodes:

“Scroll’s participation in SCALE will maximize its ecosystem’s success by increasing its developers’ access to industry-leading oracle data and oracle services and further minimizing the gas costs that Chainlink nodes incur when submitting oracle reports on Scroll.”

Chainlink’s Price Feeds Land on Base, Bringing More Precise Crypto Pricing

Base, a layer-2 blockchain backed by Coinbase and strengthened by Ethereum, has incorporated Chainlink’s renowned Price Feeds, according to an anouncment on August 8.

This integration is expected to offer developers on Base a more comprehensive suite of Web3 services, especially granting them access to Chainlink’s acclaimed Data Feeds.

Developers familiar with Base will recognize its potential in DeFi, as the integration is anticipated to fortify Base’s capabilities. This ideally leads to support for a vast range of DeFi applications, such as decentralized lending and borrowing protocols, derivatives markets and futures markets.

Commenting on the new integration, Jesse Pollak, head of protocols at Coinbase, outlined the potential advantages for developers. “The native integration of Chainlink Price Feeds into Base will enable developers with the tools they need to port existing applications over to Base, and empower developers to experiment with novel use cases that can be built on Base’s hyper-scalable layer-2 environment,” Pollak stated:

“Chainlink Price Feeds are one of the leading price data solutions for developers when it comes to security, reliability, and usability.”

Chainlink’s platform has been instrumental in providing key Web3 services across diverse sectors, solidifying its position in the industry as a key player in building developer-friendly tools “to unlock real value in Web3.”

Chainlink’s Price Feeds, backed by “decentralized Oracle networks made up of numerous Sybil-resistant node operators,” have been integral in providing accurate market coverage. These feeds rely on multiple node operators, who collaborate with top-tier data aggregators to ensure market price transparency:

“Each Chainlink Price Feed is secured by a decentralized network of independent, security-reviewed node operators run by professional DevOps to help ensure maximum reliability and uptime.”

Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, also weighed in. “The security, reliability, and accuracy guarantees that Chainlink’s Sybil-resistant oracle networks provide will enable developers to push the frontier of what’s possible when a fast layer-2 blockchain meets industry-leading oracle infrastructure,” Eid noted.
