(Pic above: Chaetostoma formosae from bing. Not Khal Chaeto.)
I’ve been seeing “Chaetostoma are so cute!” around random social media lately. It’s true, they are the cutest of the army of small plecos to choose from! I’m probably biased though, I spent several months visiting one. (Khal Chaeto, who I’ve posted before. I miss seeing them so much! Most ridiculous pleco I have ever seen. So much personality!) (Ancistrus ranunculus is the cutest of the bristlenose brigade.)
Very cute, in fact (Chaetostoma joropo - read the 1 comment if you’re on instagram, if you’re on a browser click where it says “more” and scroll through the pics. You can also hop to instagram by clicking the above pic. Aquarium Glaser has some of the best pleco pics on instagram.)
NOTE: I recommend Chaetostoma all the time because of their huge personality but in reality they are more difficult to keep than I had known when I met Khal Chaeto. I still love them but they are not really for beginners. A good beginner pleco would be a basic bristlenose (in any variety of normal, long fin, green dragon, super red, albino, blue eyed lemon, calico, etc).
