During his adolescence, Walter was overweight, unhealthy, anti-social and abnormally consumed by a love of the sciences. Between the hours he spent dissecting sci-fi movies, playing role-playing games set in space and debating quantum physics online, he dreamt of one day being in space, away from the cruel teenagers that made his life on earth a living hell. It wasn’t until he was seventeen that he realised, in order to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming an astronaut, he couldn’t just rely on his brilliant mind, he would have to make some drastic changes to his physicality and the way he interacted with others.

His hard work paid off and now, Walter is almost at the end of his training with NASA and is looking forward to his first spaceflight. Due to his rigorous regime, many of his relationships are online. He still has somewhat of a low self esteem as a result of years of bullying,
