The word for sacrifice is 犠牲/gisei. The same two Japanese syllables (though different kanji), just reversed in order. You could call the words, and thus the concepts they represent, two sides of the same coin. As such, the government and Cypher Pol in particular are quite fond of the phrase 正義の為の犠牲/seigi no tame no gisei, which is ‘sacrifices for the sake of justice.’

Tom is the only person Franky ever uses a respectful honorific (-san) for, in the present or the past.
