"Human Walk Cycle Animation - CG Project" - 13.02.2017
Once again, we were introduced to a new rig. With this rig, like the previous, we had been assigned to make a walk cycle, and like with the last rig I began with the 'keys'. I noticed with this rig that it was a lot more intricate with the limbs, allowing you to control a lot more of the movement, but in turn making it easier to break. Without breaking it, I plotted the contact, low, pass, high then contact. I repeated this for both legs. After that, I had my walking rig. I then experimented with the hips and torso, neck and head to add 'weight' and 'follow-through' to the scene. Then lastly, the hardest part was animating the shoulders, arms, and hands. For finished, in hindsight I'd work my way down the arm, starting with the shoulders, then the arms and then animate the hands last. Trying to plot the whole arm broke my rig a few time and there is a kink in the wrist in the final animation.
"Sack of Flour Experiment Animation - CG Project" - 09.02.2017
As well a completing the walk cycle, I took a few minutes to play with this 'sack of flour' rig, tweaking its controls and coming to an understanding of how it works.

For the final step, I rotated the rigs hips to give it sway when walking to replicate the way a real person walks. This addition, along with the bounce of the glasses really display the 'principles' used in the animation. From the previous lesson to here, this lesson as been way more successful. The rig didn't break this time and I was able to animate my first walk cycle in 'Maya' perfectly.
