Since the end of the Winter Ficathon, I've debated whether or not to host another ficathon, since the last few haven't generated much participation, but I've decided to give this--potentially--one last go.

So here is...

CastleFicPromoter’s Castle Ficathon 2026!

Participating stories can be posted on either Fanfiction.net or Archive of Our Own. Stories posted on FFnet will be included in the “favorites” list on the CFPromoter FFnet account. Links will also be tweeted through CFPromoter’s twitter account, posted on BlueSky, and posted on tumblr.

Word Count Goals:

Mini-Ficathon – 25,000 words

Ficathon – 50,000 words

Maxi-Ficathon – 75,000 words

Ultra-Ficathon – 100,000 words

Submissions will be accepted starting Monday, May 4, 2026 and ending at midnight on Friday, September 4, 2026. You can start writing at any time, but only fanfics posted within the timeframe will be accepted as part of the Summer Ficathon challenge.

Anyone can join, experienced and new fanfiction writers alike. Everyone is welcomed. The main point is to have fun!

If you are participating, please include "Castle Ficathon 2026" somewhere in the summary. (sidenote: If you are posting your ficathon story only on AO3, let me know, otherwise I might miss it - Thanks!)

Every participant will receive an individualized digital badge of participation at the end of the challenge. Participants will receive an additional badge for the word count level achieved at the end of Ficathon. Those who break 75k will also receive a personalized wallpaper based off the Castle Ficathon 2026 key art.
