Respect and Like are two different things. Strive to be RESPECTED. That doesn't mean being--uh--mean, but it does mean setting boundaries, communicating your wants and concerns, and just being true and honest with yourself and the people around you. Striving to be "liked" can often end up being a people pleaser--or keeping things to yourself that could potentially be a source of resentment. Plus--people can take advantage of that.
So. Respect over being Liked. People can like and respect you. Some people can respect you and not...really care about you either way and that's ok. You're NOT for everybody.
