#IronSadist @bigpoppachizl ・・・ 881 lbs / 400 kg 🔴🔴🔴 . I'm not sure if the call was rounded shoulders or soft knees- I need to ask these things to get better. It's just frustrating in the moment when you think you nailed a lift and they call you on technical stuff that is seemingly out of my control. I have no idea why my knees shake, but 3 red lights to me feels like I didn't even move the weight off the ground or I lost grip and it fell out of my hands. This is not what I picture when I think of 3 red lights. . I'm not complaining though- the judging was strict and that makes everyone better lifters. It's just frustrating, as any lifter at this level will tell you. This took about 75 lbs off my total. I came back and tried it again for my 3rd attempt but was out of gas at that point. . Someone tried a 903 lbs lift and another person tried 920 lbs but both weren't locked out and dropped. I take a lot of pride in my lifts, my deadlift especially. I just have to come back and get better! . All in all, I left several pounds on the platform but I expected that going into this meet. Glad to come out injury-free and live to lift another day. . #BarbellSlayer @bigpoppachizl out of @ironsportgym ・・・ 800 lbs x 1 x 5 So about 3 weeks ago, I had a rough day and sat down too aggressively and tore my ACL. 😂 Just kidding, but I'm pretty sure it's a torn meniscus b/c it doesn't hurt to walk at all but getting down to 90 degrees is excruciatingly painful. There was no "pop" or sudden change in direction- I literally just sat down and was like why the hell is my knee in so much pain??? This is in my right leg, the one where I tore my quad squatting in a meet back in Aug 2015 (video in my IG). I never got it checked out and my right quad looks a little different than my left (the muscle has been torn, but the tendon is still attached). I'll bet my knee issue is related to my quad. I won't know the diagnosis until I get an MRI but clearly I'm still able to deadlift. Hopefully I don't need surgery. I suffered a lot of depression in the last 3 weeks b/c I was unable to squat and barely deadlift... I wanted to have my best meet yet at the US Open. But what I've come to learn is at this level, injury is inevitable. It's just a matter of managing it and continuing to fight. It makes you tougher when you survive a bad injury- I can tell you first hand from my complete biceps tear. On these reps, my knee is unstable and the reps seem a lot harder than they are. I could have done 10 of these with the power in my back and ass. I feel a little bit weaker but a few more weeks of recovery and I'm looking at an 850+ possibly 900 lbs deadlift at the US Open. #BarbellSlayer @bridgeford242 from @feedmefightme ・・・ Some conventional pulling tonight because sumo wasn't cooperating... but still needed to get some work in. - 785 lbs x1 - 675 lbs x3 on the stiff bar with pauses off the floor, after 4 triples working up in weight. - 725 lbs x3 also with stiff bar. Just under four weeks out. Might have to switch to conventional for the meet, the strength honestly feels the same with all the stiff legs and pause deads I've been doing, just need to get used to how conventional feels with heavy weights again and I honestly think I'll be able to still hit what I want even if I pull conventional. Also, started some playful trash talk with @forsakenwarrior tonight.
