@certaincruelty Enters the Fray
Aatrox mused on the body that lay before him. He had been chasing this woman across Ionia for abandoning her post; something he would NOT tolerate, especially not while during his performance. Now, though, she was little more than a corpse, but the four holes in her body were... Peculiar. They looked to be bullets, but guns were hardly a common weapon beyond Piltover and Zaun... The wounds were spaced apart in a surprisingly intricate manner, and what was more, the still seemed warm. Whoever did this was close by.

Thresh pulled his hair back from his face and circled the corpse in the road. It was a spectacular work of carnage, someone had clearly put work into it and was probably very proud of themselves. Thresh personally would’ve preferred that the corpse not be in the way, but he couldn’t really fix that problem, so instead he’d just look at what was there, and maybe figure out if there was some fun to be had on this boring Ionian road after all.
Thresh nudged over the corpse and inspected the bullet holes. A nice gun, to be sure, one certainly not of Zaunite or Piltover make, since the bullet holes seemed edged with magic. If Thresh could see the gun properly, he’d be able to tell where it had been made, but as it stood, he was just poking around a dead body whose killer was close and probably more than ready to put a few bullets in a new victim. Thresh shrugged and used a spectral hook to skewer the corpse under it’s chin and toss it into the brush for someone else to find in a few hours. He scanned the treeline and smiled, a few flashes of gold were just barely visible amid the dappled light.
“I can see you,” he called loudly, knowing that the announcement was probably a stupid idea.
❝ you are safe with me. ❞

“Is that what I am supposed to feel? Mmmm, wait, that is my rib cage.”
There was a solid pop as his inhaled, a groan leaving his body as he healed rapidly. Talk about embarrassing, assassins get the drop on him. Or, would-be assassins. Nasus wasn’t so easy to kill.
He let out a sigh, wincing briefly. He hurt all over, scratches and scrapes closing up.
“At least tell me I am not about to be shot… That would really ruin my day.”
"Your stance is all wrong."
Twitching at sentence, Draven threw a glare towards the other, “Oh and I suppose you know better huh?”

“ he’s only mostly dead. ”
“Only mostly?” Taric repeated with an air of bewilderment. He lofted a brow at the masked man and the limp body he happened to be toting. The unfortunate soul looked to be entirely dead instead of ‘mostly’, but he was all-to-glad to be proven wrong.
“In that case, how about I lend a hand?” he offered with an amiable smile.
“We’re done here.”
What could he possibly mean by this? Done with what? What had she even witnessed? She knew it was a mindless, savage murder, but why? Just the sight It was leaving her with a disgusting taste in her mouth as disgust and confusion rose in her.
“ What do you mean we are done? “ Her voice was betraying how much she was holding back on turning her very own weapons toward the man. “ There is no we in this. What have you done?
what would it take to think about me any other way?

A hard line formed around Abigail’s mouth, as it always did when faced with unpleasant, probing questions. The hospital – the doctors – were always full of them.
“I don’t know you,” she evenly said. “It’s difficult to think of anyone beyond outward appearance when that’s all you’ve got to work with. And no offense, but I rely pretty heavily on ‘stranger danger’ these days.”
