#fuyu no hanashi#centimilimental#given#given anime#still too raw an experience for me to listen to without prep#the prep is rewatching that episode#i still haven't seen to the sea because#i am RATIONING that pain for later#i can barely recommend the manga or anime to friends bc i'm trying to dodge spoilering them but also don't want them to cry in a supermarke#it's genuinely queer and not just “BL”#the soundtrack is truly excellent rock#(no srsly centimilimental did a lot of music for the anime and he's AMAZING)#it touches on key aspects of the queer experience w/o glorifying nor cheapening those things#it shows the messiness and surviving of romantic relationships that lack set definitions#i.e. every queer romance by default#and how volatile queer romances are within a society where queerness is so isolating#esp if you're already isolated/marginalized for other reasons#(some of this is defs me projecting but the story is strong enough to support multiple readings)#at least half the cast reads as neurodivergent#i envy anyone who can just... listen to their favourite song or album on repeat w/o ripping their own heart out#you would think that more time would have desensitized me to fuyu no hanashi#but i would hate if that happened tbh#listening to centimilimental's vocal performances of it helps to distance its meaning from its lyrics but#dear god even then it is HEAVY#i get it stuck in my head all the time#my voice cannot go low enough for this one note that happens three times and so i suffer
