Cook
Cook — I’ll write a drabble of our characters cooking together.
The sight was quite an odd one. Leaning against the counter, Hana couldn’t help but let the surprise seep into her eyes. She’d never pinned Changmin for the cooking type. No, the lawyer seemed quite out of place standing in the kitchen of her apartment complex. The blue checkered apron she’d painted to reflect the tranquil sea clashed against his dark black suit as he took it off the rack.
“here - let me get that for you.” Hana offered, taking the suit he’d slipped off and hanging it neatly on the backs of one of the chairs before returning to the kitchen. Her head shook slightly, still unable to grasp the situation at hand. As her hands reached to brush her wild brown locks into a ponytail, her eyes watched the other fold the apron before tying it around himself; the blue oddly matching with his sleek white dress shirt.
Placing an apron on herself as well, Hana began taking various ingredients out of the fridge. “So your making seafood pasta?” she asked, checking the freezer to see what she had. “I have clams, shrimp, fish — and squid.” she listed, “so plenty of options – while you make that, I guess I’ll make some spicy shrimp and Jjamppong” Hana remarked with a nod, making the decisions more so by herself than actually asking the other.
So the clatter of pans and the crackle of fire seemed to fill the momentary silence as the two worked together in the kitchen. Unlike other attempts at cooking with others, Hana seemed to find a certain balance with Changmin. Rather than bumping into each other and causing another kitchen catastrophe to clean up, the two maneuvered adeptly around the kitchen and to the stove. Occasionally exchanging glances to see what the other was making – Hana could’ve sworn she’d caught him laughing at her clumsiness when she’d almost dropped the bowl of chopped ingredients as the counter was getting a bit cluttered.
