❝Tell me, which one is worse? Living or dying first?❞ ── Delicate hands encased in silken gloves tremble─fingertips pressed together in silent prayer. A holy woman with locks of gold and ocean eyes, nearly on the cusp of adulthood, stands alone in a graveyard long forgotten by the living. The sister could only hope her devotion provided the deceased some small comfort. ❝May you forever bask in the Sun God's holy embrace.❞

⊰☠⊱ — That was an easy one. There was nothing more hellish than living. At least dying brought an end to everything. Sometimes quick, sometimes not but it resulted the same– it all comes to an end. All the pain and suffering. All the nasty bits. As the saying goes, it was like hell on earth. A living, neverending hell and they were all strugglers, fighting hard to survive and make the most of it. Some more than others. Others being the lucky few. Living wasn’t entirely all that bad either, though. The people made it worth it. The few good ones.
Nicolas hadn’t really anticipated on something like this, though. A nun making a personal house call. Worick couldn’t have called for her. The both of them had committed more sin than they could count. To burden someone of all that just wasn’t something he wanted to do. Wasn’t even much of a burden to him in general, really. The things he did, he had to do. It got the job done. It was how they survived. Even if it futile in the end. It would be their time soon enough. That end that they– he searched for indirectly, with his self-destructiveness, his time would be up any day now.
Had she come her to save his soul? A personal mission to salvage what little of his damaged soul she could? How thoughtful, but he didn’t need it. It would be better if it were anyone else but him. She clearly was devoted to the big guy upstairs it seems. It was almost admirable how genuine her concern was and how dedicated she came of as.

Deep and hoarse, the sluggish drawl of his voice suddenly broke the silence she experienced. He was all too familiar with both, coming near one more than the other but he wouldn’t tell her something like that. It was a subject that was too heavy. Something he wasn’t and wouldn’t be willing to sure. He wouldn’t put that kind of shit on someone. It would’ve been easier to sign though but he figured he go with talking to be safe, in case she wasn’t familiar with sign language.
Soft and gently, he smiled down at the nun.
