Also got enough pack points to claim the Primarina card I apparently didn’t have and that artwork looks kinda familiar (also it’s by Kagemaru Himeno who also illustrates the Silhouette Series)

A bold claim I know. I would dare say this game hates many people. This is not a post about late stage capitalism or Gacha. This is about a deep personal slight.

So I have been a casual consumer of TCG Pocket up until around the release of Shining Revelry. By this point I was doing pretty good, had no interest in the paid stuff but just vibin. Enjoying the cards I pulled, got enough hits. I saw my friends fretting over getting the special arts of their favorite Pokemon in Gen 1 and 4 and I did not care. I got the Illustration Serperior and at that point that was enough...

So for the people who know me. I'm Bee! I go by Bee, I have a Bee hat on my sona and in real life. I have bee plushies. I like the bee association. It makes me happy. (Hapbee?). To the point I had a deck in Pocket that was Beedrill Vespiquen! I had fun with it.

AND THEN THE TRAILER DROPS AND I SEE IT.

And suddenly. I am no longer a casual enjoyer of anything. I am Ahab, and this lime green whale stands before me. A glimmering challenge in the dark. I had to have it. For the branding! For the vibes! For the BIT.

I still do not own a Shiny Beedrill in Pokemon TCG Pocket. I told my friends that the only thing that would keep me from ignoring set A3 before it released was if somehow the Pokemon Company and DeNA decided to be cruel heartless bastards and make the next set about my favorite region in Pokemon the Alol- OH COME FUCKING ON

...I am still trying to pull Shining Revelry intermittently for that Beedrill...
