One thing I don't like about it is that first of all they always expect me to remember who people are after them not being mentioned for months and they just decide not to answer questions that they know we want to know when Alex has the information because she wants to talk about something else instead. And the whole ending as a mystery doesn't work because the world isn't over and the world of TANIS and RABBITS is fine so clearly they got on the plane she wanted. Love?
oh GOD YEAH, that was such an annoying plot device, when she would start with the Interesting Thing and then be like “but first let me ramble for ten minutes about my insomnia problem :)“. i think i was surprisingly ok with keeping track of the cast, but it prolly helped i listened with someone else i could talk to about it.
yeah, that ending was a complete nonanswer, ooc for alex (who this entire time chased the mysteries relentlessly even when literally everyone else was telling her to take it easy?), and just leaves soooo many plot threads untied, even if we pretend it’s not completely obvious what plane they got on. if they got on the geneva plane that wouldnt have been the finale. it was a copout, plain and simple. also there was 0 romantic chemistry between those two.
and a small moment to sideeye them hard. no other podcast ive listened to has had anywhere near as many commercials as black tapes did.
