look Look. im the first to criticise bad movie adaptations (#1 book fan over here) and project hail mary had a Lot riding on it for me.
i was practically raised on the martian and read project hail mary like the month it came out. my entire family has been waiting for the movie since plans were first announced Years ago.
so you gotta believe me when i say that the movie was So good. faithful to the book, and the changes they did make both made sense (because look, its a long ass book and nobody wants to be in the theater for five hours) and didn't take away from any of the themes or messages. (and sometimes added to it I LOVE U CARL) maybe i shouldn't be surprised, because andy weir Was a producer on the film, but i just have a healthy dose of skepticism, you know? and i was so thrilled to be wrong.
visual effects? stunning. jokes? absolutely cringe and lame just like the book intended. rocky? incredible.
