You can really see that I only just figured out Cedar’s facial proportions from all these. Jeez.
Is it okay if I ask what brings you (and other people) to ship Cedar and Sparrow? In concept it seems an intriguing ship but (despite Cedar being 90% of my EAH passion lmao) I haven't really caught on anything in the show or books that might lead there. Is it more a a flight of imagination? Can you share the Cedrow propaganda with me please? I seem to have somewhat missed it all these years in ajkfhafhakadkj
Cedar and Sparrow have very limited interaction in canon; the only times they're really in the same situation together is Duchess's plans to sneak into True Heart's Day and, in the books, the Tri-Athelon. The idea for it originated with one piece of fan art done by @dexchase-supremcy, which my personal circle found and went batshit over.
The main draws, at least for me, are as follows:
Both having non-royalty status, so they come from the same socioeconomic background and face the same challenges as Rebels
Both have stories that will put them through pain and suffering despite ultimately being "good" (Cedar having her plotline with a good ending, Sparrow having the glory of his plotline and ultimately a canonical death)
Cerise is Sparrow's cousin and Raven hates his guts, which means Cedar would have to try and contend with her closest friends being against her relationship
Her never being able to tell a lie vs him being a cunning thief
Sparrow doesn't have a canonical Maid Marian figure; I like to interpret that as Cedar being placed as his Maid Marian once she's finished her main plot
Cedar as an alternative to Duchess, who is also a liar attempting to steal things. Sparrow ultimately goes against Duchess's efforts in True Heart's Day, after all
Cedar as someone with a constricted life (she's literally made of wood, she has a curse on her limiting her voice) and finding someone who cannot be contained (the necessary freedoms of being Robin Hood)
The rebellious actions of Pinocchio over his plot, and thus Cedar's future actions, meshing well with Sparrow's plot actions
I personally like to experiment with Sparrow's gender when I write him, and I think it's very interesting to pair a character struggling with his gender identity with a character who was so deliberately created to be a girl with each part of her body decided before she existed by powers outside of her control
Artist/Musician, Purple/Green, other aesthetic things I probably can't really think of at the moment
So yeah!!! I have written a lot of fics about them, they have lived in my head rent free for almost three years now. I just think they're very neat to pair together.

This one has much less symbolism I just thought about the fact Cedar doesn’t really sleep, Sparrow sleeps like shit and they have canon birthdays/signs. Stargazing!

Second Cedrow proper ship art was a genderbend! Which— the way I handle those is always “What if this character was born and raised the opposite sex” rather than a purely visual change so there’s personality and story differences here than the usual
Fun fact: Girl Sparrow here is named Dove, which is taken from a fanfiction where Sparrow’s a trans man and that’s his deadname lmao. Fantastic fic, made me like enemies to lovers for all of five minutes, give it a read.
