Kane Gulch, Cedar Mesa, Grand Gulch Primitive Area, Utah, USA (2)
A total of 9.4 miles (15,1 km) with 650 ft (200 m) of loss and gain, an introductory trail to the Grand Gulch. Hiking in the Kane Gulch is so engaging that a destination is unnecessary (https://www.amazon.com/Hiking-Here-WOW-Canyon-Country/dp/089997452X). The trailhead is near the Kane Gulch Ranger Station on the Hwy 261 South, 3.8 miles from the junction with the Hwy 95. Here you will find sandstone ledges, pour-offs, slickrock paths, Anasazi ruins, mountain lion tracks, low green vegetation, and fun, of course.

August 12th, 2016 First Fork Slickhorn Canyon, Cedar Mesa, Utah, USA This is a moderate hike, 8.8 miles (14,2 km) long with an elevation change of 670 ft (204 m). It is just a part of the Slickhorn complex. An astonishing view of the canyon at the beginning while hiking a slickrock path is a motivating start. Remains of a "kiva", a room used by Puebloans for religious rituals and political meetings, wildlife, Utah junipers, wonderful sandstones, and remarkable loneliness are other reasons to go.
