Basically a soulmate AU. When they died they became lesbian fairy godmothers with no memory of their previous lives, just inclinations or feelings (eg nostalgia when seeing someone riding a horse or mourning when seeing a happy sapphic couple) which lead them to know that they’ve lost someone special. Though they met in 1905, the rules of the soulmate AU is they can only remember one another if their lesbians fall in love, so it isn’t until the “I can look at you” scene that they remember each other and live happily ever after. They don’t have to guide other lesbians anymore because they’ve found each other again.
