The culmination of hours of hard work, months of uncertain feelings, two overwhelming proclamations, and a random twist of fate has finally arrived. The student showcase for their collaborative fashion collections was here and underway. To say nerves are high would be an understatement, but through the stress, Pythia and Icesis and there for each other before, during, and after.

Day 2: Curtain Fic | Fandom: RPDR | Ship: Bratpack Warnings: N/A | Tags: fluff, domestic life
Swedish furniture
It was with the full intent of impressing their partner that Synthia and Gia began their project of building the dining room table. The three of them had recently gotten the keys to their first apartment together, a big step in their relationship. The place was still sparsely furnished, most of their previous furniture being unfit for a more permanent residence.
How hard could it be to assemble a couple of legs to a flat surface? Kendall had been the one to assemble their bed all alone, so it couldn't be too difficult if the two of them worked together on the project. That hubris soon bit them in their tails as Gia cursed under their breath as the screw slipped from their hands for the fourth time, the leg going down with it. Synthia was engrossed in the manual, turning it around and flipping the pages, all in all not being a great help to the cause.
"Maybe we should wait until Kenny gets home?" Synthia huffed, clearly frustrated that they were getting nowhere. She dropped the instruction manual unceremoniously on the ground before plopping down on the floor.
Gia dropped what they were doing to sit next to Synthia, equally as done with the project as she was. Gia wrapped their arm around Synthia, giving her a squeeze. "Think of how happy she will be Synth. She'll come home to a functioning dining room, warm meal ready at the table."
"When you put it like that, maybe we should give it another try." Synthia leaned into Gia, content to just stay down at the floor. "Just can we stay like this for five more minutes?"
"Five more minutes." Gia agreed, kissing Synthia's temple. It wasn't long before they were laying on the floor on their backs, gently caressing one another innocently.
Time was a lost concept as the two laid on the floor, the stillness filling the apartment. The only sound that could be heard were their calm breaths.
When the sound of a key jostling the door disturbed their peace, Gia stiffened, knowing that time had run out and their partner was finally home. Synthia seemed to be unaware as she nuzzled into their neck with a sigh. She must have fallen asleep.
"I'm home!" Kendall's voice boomed as she entered the apartment. "And I have brought... oh, I see you guys have been busy."
Busy had been an understatement, as they had managed to cover most of the room with cardboard and the different parts for the table. The boxes for the chairs were also opened.
"We wanted to surprise you." Gia nudged Synthia to wake her up. "Since you've already done so much."
"Mhm, happy birthday Kenny." Synthia mumbled, rubbing her eyes.
Kendall snorted at the outburst, "It's not even my birthday."
"Oh yeah, it isn't." Freeing herself from Gia, Synthia sat upright, their partner following suit.
"Well, I bought us some takeout from down the corner, so let's eat." Kendall lifted the bag that she was holding to show what she had brought, before joining her two partners on the floor. "You two look so cozy down there, let me join you."
"You're not mad we didn't finish the table?" Synthia asked, worried she had disappointed her partner. Kendall smiled at her before giving Synthia a kiss.
"We can work on it later. It's more fun if we do it together." Kendall reassured her.
"Sometimes I worry that you baby her too much, Kenny."
"Says the one who slept on the floor when their partner wanted cuddles." Gia stuck out their tongue at Kendall's teasing. She definitely knew them too well.
I sadly think I have a thing for posting in the dead of the night, but if I haven’t changed yet it’s not likely it’ll happen. Here’s another chapter of nothing but the softest fluff ever. Am I buttering you all up for what’s to come or am I simply just a sucker for soft brat pack? IDK you can decide, either way I hope you enjoy.

Synthia wakes the next morning to the scent of cinnamon and sugar cooking, the soft morning light filtering through gauzy curtains, and a warm arm draped tightly over her waist. Her eyes fly open in a startled panic, forgetting for a moment where she was until the face in front of hers comes into view. Gia’s still out cold, their face buried partially in the pillow. Their brightly colored hair sticks up in every direction. Gia looks younger in their sleep, their usual stony expression smoothed into soft lines and gently fluttering eyelashes as they dream.Â
Synthia vaguely remembers waking up in Kendall’s arms as she was carried to their bedroom. She’d been awake long enough to change into borrowed pajamas and to let Kendall gently braid her hair away from her face. Between the insanely soft bed and sheets and how snug she felt curled between the two, it had been one of the best night’s sleep she’d gotten in a while.Â
Wiggling from under Gia’s arm and out of the criminally comfortable bed feels like a performance worth an award, and she does a little victory dance as she makes her way down the hall. She follows her nose to the kitchen where she finds Kendall in front of the stove, flipping something in a little pan. Her hair is still messy, twisted into a bun on the top of her head. The tank top she’s wearing rides up a little with each flip of the spatula revealing a small strip of soft tanned skin.Â
“Awake already? I knew you’d been an early riser even on a morning off huh?” Kendall’s peeking over her shoulder at Synthia with a little grin.Â
“I’ve usually got too much to do during the day to sleep in.” She replies with a little shrug. “What are you making?”
“French toast. It’s usually the only way to wake Gia up before noon. Did you sleep alright?” Kendall adds the toast in the pan to the pile on a plate next to her, cutting the stove off with a quiet click.Â
Synthia nods absently as she steps further into the room and looks around the space. It’s worlds from her little one at home, granite countertops, shiny new appliances, and a huge island that Synthia’s pretty confident she could fully stretch out on. The huge windows from the main room stretch into the kitchen flooding the space with light.Â
“I’m sorry for falling asleep on you both last night, thank you for letting me stay and for lending me something to sleep in.” She smiles shyly, tugging at the too short sleeves of her borrowed sweater. Even Kendall’s largest sweater had been no match for Synthia’s long arms, something Kendall and Gia had both found endearing when she stumbled from the bathroom after changing the night before.Â
“Of course Syn. We weren’t going to send you home so late, besides you looked simply too sweet to disturb,” she winks at the blonde, grazing a kiss over her cheek as she passes on the way to the island and giggling at the blush that blossoms after. “Come sit baby, do you want some coffee?”
“Please!” Synthia perks up at the offer, practically racing to the stool Kendall motions toward. A warm mug lands in her hands before she knows it, and she sighs her thanks happily into the steaming surface.Â
“How are you feeling about last night?” Kendall comes to stand beside Synthia, stroking a gentle hand down her pretty blonde braids. Synthia takes a moment to nurse her coffee before answering, gathering her thoughts.
“It was kind of a lot,” Synthia finally agrees. “I always suspected you guys didn’t just work in finance, but I can honestly say that mob bosses was not where my mind was going.”
“If it's easier you can just think of us as business people,” Kendall offers, pulling away from her side only long enough to fix two plates of french toast and push one in front of Synthia.Â
“Somehow I don’t think most business people carry weapons on them at all times.” Synthia points out lightly, drowning her plate in syrup. Kendall huffs a laugh, pushing a bowl of cut fruit over to the blonde.
“Touche,” she nudges her stool a bit closer to Synthia’s, their knees just barely brushing when Kendall sits. “Anything else?”Â
“Well,” Synthia frowns down at her plate, nerves settling in her stomach. Her eyes are just about glued to her plate, nudging a piece of toast around the pool of syrup with the tines of her fork. “About the whole us thing. I’ve never,”
“You’ve never what?” Kendall’s tone is gentle as she speaks, her hand rubbing soothing little circles on Synthia’s back through the fabric of her sweater. She lets Synthia mull over what she’s trying to say before she presses again. “You can tell me, it’s alright.”
“I’ve never really been with anyone, let alone two people and it’s just a little nerve wracking. You’ve both known each other for so much longer than I have and I’m just not so sure I could compare. I don’t want to mess anything up.” She’s practically mumbling by the end of it, trying her hardest not to squirm in her spot. She feels a little embarrassed to already be worrying like that, but the last thing she wants is to lose the two people she’s grown closest to over the past few months.Â
“Hey. Look at me baby?” Kendall waits for Synthia to tear her eyes away from her plate to meet her kind gaze. “Sure Gia and I have a lot more history together, but it also means I’ve known them long enough to know that there’s no way you could mess any of this up. You get to call the shots here okay? However fast or slow you want to take things is more than fine with us both. All we want is to have you be a part of our lives in any way you’ll allow.”
Synthia feels like she could be in danger of crying again at Kendall’s words, her heart warm and almost bursting with emotions. Part of her had felt like it was too late to experience love and that she’d have no chance at finding one person willing to put up with her lack of experience, and somehow she’d managed to stumble across two.Â
“Thank you,” she eventually says, smiling shyly over at the brunette and feeling sure in her place for the first time since she met them both. She doesn’t think twice about falling into Kendall’s arms when they open either.Â
She delights in how safe she feels in the brunette’s arms, her head tucked neatly underneath Kendall’s chin like it was meant to always be there. She’s angled just right to hear the steady thump of her heart filling Synthia’s ears, grounding her in the moment. Kendall’s warm enough to combat the chill beginning to creep in from the chilly hardwood floors, and Synthia never wants to let go. Unfortunately her stomach makes the decision for her, letting out a loud growl much to her embarrassment and Kendall’s amusement.Â
“Eat your breakfast before it goes cold sweetheart, we’ve got plenty of time to cuddle afterwards if you want.” She sends her back to her stool with a gentle squeeze and a kiss to her cheek effectively replacing Synthia’s little pout with a grin.Â
Gia stumbles in shortly after, bleary eyed and ruffled from sleep still. They drop twin kisses to Kendall and Synthia’s heads before claiming the plate bearing the leftover french toast that Kendall offers. Synthia bites her lip to stave off a giggle when they fight with the bottle of syrup, only just managing to avoid spilling it across the island.Â
“Gia’s not much of a morning person as you can probably tell.” Kendall grins over at Synthia and easily dodging the crumpled napkin the ginger aims her way.Â
She leaves Synthia to finish her coffee and Gia to finish their meal while she starts to clean up the kitchen. Synthia manages to finish eating in time to help Kendall with the dishes despite the elder’s protests for Synthia to go sit back down. Her efforts earn her another cuddle in the end while they wait for Gia to finish eating.Â
She squeaks as she’s picked up by the hips and perched on the edge of the counter, Kendall stepping into the space between her legs. Synthia beams down at her, wrapping her arms around Kendall’s shoulders, tall enough at this angle to prop her chin on top of Kendall’s head. They’re silent for a minute, the noise of Gia’s fork against the ceramic plate the only sound in the kitchen. Kendall’s head is pillowed against Synthia’s collarbone, fingers toying with the slightly fraying hem of Synthia’s borrowed sweater. Synthia busies herself combing through Kendall’s waves loosely with her fingers, giggling quietly when Kendall leans into her touch.Â
“What time do you need to be at the shop today?” She asks into her neck, her breath tickling the sensitive skin and making Synthia squirm away slightly. She ponders the question for a moment, debating on everything she needed to get done and reviews the day’s schedule in her mind.Â
“Not until later, after lunch maybe? I just need to settle payroll for the period and make sure the building’s still standing. Priyanka opened by herself this morning and there’s no telling what she got into without Lemon there to reign her in.” The last time Priyanka was left alone for any length of time at the store she ended up almost flooding the kitchen and was assigned strictly register duty for a month.
“I’m sure your pretty little store will be just fine, it looks sturdy enough under all of that pink.” Gia grins over their plate at the blonde, barking out a laugh when she sticks her tongue out at them.Â
“I’ll have you know my store is fabulous. I think it could even use more pink.” She huffs, her pout only growing when Kendall starts to pull away from their cuddle.Â
“Feisty today aren’t you sweetheart?” She asks moving toward the coffee pot with a final squeeze to Synthia’s hip. She definitely doesn’t pout at the loss of Kendall's warmth.Â
They send her off to the bathroom to shower, the promise of clean clothes to follow still ringing fresh in her ears. Kendall and Gia’s shower is enormous, easily the size of her whole bathroom and judging by the labels on them she can only assume the bath products are painfully expensive. She picks a bottle at random, relaxing underneath the hot spray as she washes her hair with as little product as she can manage.Â
True to Kendall’s words there was a small stack of clothes awaiting Synthia when she climbed out. Her toes sink into the fluffy bath mat as she towels dry, even the towel she had grabbed criminally soft. She’s surprised to find that the clothes still bear tags, even down to the undergarments, and she’s even more shocked when it all is a perfect fit.Â
The pale pink sweater she’d been given was the softest thing she’d ever felt, small white spots adorning the fabric. The jeans even fit like a glove and for once they’re long enough to cover her ankles, a small price she normally pays for the garment to fit at the waist. She tries very hard not to think about Kendall and Gia knowing exactly what lacy white underthings are hiding beneath her clothes as she towel dries her hair.Â
“Good, it fits! You look lovely.” Gia’s the first one she finds when Synthia enters the living room. They’re stretched out across the couch, much like last night, though they stand and make their way over to her when she enters the room.Â
“Did you guys go buy me new clothes or something?” Synthia’s sporting a little frown on her lips as she tries to push the guilt she’s feeling away. “I mean they’re very lovely and I really appreciate it but they were so expensive and I feel bad-”
“Synthia, angel shush. We weren’t going to make you spend the day in your clothes from yesterday or hike halfway across town just to change. Don’t worry about the cost either, I promise it doesn’t even begin to dent the life Kendall and I have built over the years. Even if it did I wouldn’t mind, I like to take care of the people that are important to me.” Gia effectively cuts off her rambling, their hands gently brushing back some of her still damp locks. Synthia bites her lip at the warmth that spreads through her chest. “I apologize if we overstepped any boundaries Synthia, we truly didn’t intend to.”
“No, no it’s alright,” she almost rushes to assure them. “I just didn’t want you to feel like you had to or anything. But uhm Gia? Thank you, I really like the sweater.”Â
“You’re more than welcome angel, you’re just so pretty in pink.” Synthia blushes at the compliment, bridging the already miniscule distance between them to wrap her arms around Gia’s middle and bury her flushed face in their strong chest. Gia returns the hug warmly, swaying them where they stand for a moment before pulling away.Â
“Come on, let’s go finish drying your hair before Kendall sees you. She’s convinced that everyone will die one day from wet hair in the cold.” Gia’s remark is followed by a muffled protest from Kendall where she’s hammering away at a laptop in their study just off the living room. Synthia follows Gia back down the hallway, her laughter ringing through the otherwise quiet apartment.
