it is no news that yoongi’s major love in life had always been coffeeshops and their different environment and themes. unless it’s a particularly noisy one, there’s hardly any place more appealing than a cosy, warm coffeeshop with soft music playing and quiet chatting of strangers around. not only is the overall place ideal for studies and lazy afternoons, yoongi cannot deny that he has an awful case of a sweet tooth - and really, what better place to get a good cup of hot chocolate and a pastry than a local coffeeshop? yoongi prefers their freshness and uniqueness a ton better in comparison to those poor excuses of pastries you’d find in convenience stores.
with this being said, it’s also no wonder that yoongi has his personal favourite coffeeshops. the one he currently is at ranks high on his list for friendly staff and for the best, arguably most teeth-rotting sweets he knows. all of the pastries seem to be filled to the brim with deliciousness, covered in powdered sugar and cinnamon. it’s heaven on earth for yoongi.
he is just waiting for his turn in line when the bell hanging above the door rings, signaling a new customer. yoongi has always been good with faces; he cannot remember names even if his life depends on it, but the distinct features of people do easily get imprinted in his memory. so is the case with the girl that just walked in, a girl yoongi is sure he has seen more often than not at that same coffeeshop, though due to shyness and personal space he has never directed a word at her. he doesn’t expect today to be any different, but it’s always good to see a familiar face.
finally he steps forth when it’s his turn, little polite smile on his lips as his eyes move to glance at the menu. “i’d like a white chocolate mocha with one of your sweet bean breads, please.” he orders, casual as ever, paying and taking the buzzer he’s given to a quiet table near the window.
