I’ve gotten a few questions on how I make and use lace appliqués. @sweetninetales and I developed this method together. First I buy lace yardage. This gold lace I bought down in NYC last summer. Using references I plan out where I will cut my appliqués out and carefully snip them from the yardage making sure to leave ample netting around the appliqués. This can get trimmed later (trimming too close might result in cutting the embrodery threads and loosing any beading or sequens.) if you do have to cut the embroidery you can use tacky glue or seam sealant to fix the edge so it doesn’t unravel. After I cut the appliqués I noticed that the net showed too much on the fabric so I carefully colored in the net on THE BACK SIDE with brush tip sharpies. Some bleeding did happen so I plan to cover it with embrodery floss later. I use gutterman invisible thread to sew down my appliqués using a hand blanket stitch. You can sew them on with a machine or glue them. I like hand sewing. It’s tedious but easier for me! #sewingwip #ccosplaywip #cosplaytips https://www.instagram.com/p/CEEbDx0jmHw/?igshid=196cl19gr3hav
