Steering Pencil | Drawing Machines | Spring 2016
This drawing tool developed out of the concept of being ambidextrous and wanting to use a pencil in a non traditional position. The tool mimics that of a steering wheel while the wires act like a shock system in tires.
Further exploration will deal with letting the machine take over by removing the hand in the process and having a rule base system.
Follow The Leader | Form Studio | Fall 15
A group project centered around Conditional design. We designed a set rules that would produce a piece of work similar to the one above.Â
Rules: 4 players. Order is youngest to oldest. Each player has an individual player. First player draws a horizontal line at the top left corner for 5 seconds. The following player draws another horizontal line for 5 seconds. At the end of the page, place a line under the first line. Fill the entire page with each player going in order.Â
Prints of Who I Am | Form Studio | Fall 2015
Project revolved around creating a template that allows people to re-create their thumbprint. This concept explores identity and how we define ourselves in an abstract context.Â
Participants were from the graduate program of Design at California College of the Arts
Hello followers of FragileStudios. Â Today our Business of Design team started an indiegogo campaign for our startup called Thrive.
Thrive is a business project developed by a team of four students in the Design MFA program at California College of the Arts, San Francisco. Chris, Ramune, Sarah, and Wioleta created Thrive to foster empathy for the environment by helping you keep your plants healthy and happy.
Do you love plants, but have a hard time keeping them alive? Are you too busy between work, living in the cloud, & basejumping to remember to check on them? Do you need a reminder to water them? We are here to help!
Thrive is a low cost, low impact, sensor and app that gives your plant a personality and helps you visualize its moisture and light levels. By tracking your plant’s vitals over time, the app helps you gain insight into its needs. The sensor is compatible with all types of plants, so you don’t mistakenly drown your rare Bolivian cactus or undersun your voluptuous Hibiscus acetosella.
Check out the campaign here. Â Remember, each dollar donation only counts as one vote for our project and all proceeds go to Architecture for Humanity
