Open Starter
Eugene slumped towards the coffee machine, barely having enough energy to set himself a cup of coffee. Last night seemed to be yet another one added to the seemingly endless string of sleepless nights. It was awful getting up in the mornin' after such a restless night, but he found that a cup of coffee often helped. His eyes were barely open and he felt he was about to nod off at any second, but he kept refusing. Eugene knew the rest would do him well but he wouldn't allow himself to doze off. He was too worried about slipping away into another hellish nightmare. Staying up all night and having not enough energy to function throughout day was a preferable alternative than having to relive those awful moments over and over again.
"So anyway, how was your night?" he asked, his voice sounding groggy
