"Come out, Cat!" The dragon princess yelled, scampering about in the meadow. "You've won this game!" The silks of her sleeves were torn and had all kinds of twigs and leaves. "Razkiel! Please come out!" Still looking for her friend in the meadows of the Celestial Garden. "I'll have the cooks prepare milk for you when we return!" Maybe enticing him will draw him out.
That yelling.
Razkiel opened his eyes to half-mast, frowning up at the stark blue sky. He heard his name called out again, and had half a mind to toss the girl into a well for ruining his dream. It was a good dream. Surrounded by beautiful nereids, their gemstone scales glistening, pulling him ever deeper into their crystal clear lake.
Sprawled out on his back on the dew-drop grass, the cat couldnāt bring himself to moveāhis body was boneless, heavy with sleep that refused to pull its hooks out of him. A ladybug was perched on the end of his nose, and he crossed his eyes to see it staring back at him.
At the mention ofĀ āmilkā, and seeing the little girl stride past right over his feet, he flicked a finger at her. The ends of her silk dress grew taut, caught right on to her shoes.Ā
His eyes closed blissfully to the wet squelch of a body hitting mud.
