Denver, Colorado. We linked up with Jens brother Scott , who's a brewer at Caution Brewing out in Lakewood. Met his girlfriend Jess and had a good time eating and drinking our way around the Denver area.

American IPAs are a diverse style, with an undefined difference in East Coast and West Coast styles.  There don’t seem to be any clear rules for what makes an IPA either East or West; it has nothing to do with where the hops are grown, as far as I can tell.  All I know is that I tend to favor West Coast styles, which seem to utilize more fruity C hops.  In my experience, East Coast styles tend toward stronger bitterness, and Stone Cold Hazy definitely fits that description. My companion found it excellent: hoppy, hazy, and bitter.  I was not as crazy about it, and I wish I knew what kind of hops they used so I could narrow down specifically what disagrees with my palette.
