Lo had no idea who came up with the suggestion that tracing your magical family tree was a good exercise. She sent and owl for her father asking for all the family pictures he could have, and unfortunately, he only had three pictures because the others 'got lost in the move in'. Lo's family wasn't the typical pureblood family you met in Britain, in fact many even questioned that status due to their strange way of living: Her family was run by scholars and writers, so they were always moving around to gather the best source of information they could have, crossing oceans and never staying too long at the same location.

"Do you think that they are going to accept if I put a draw on the members I don't have a photograph?" Her question was directed to her cat whose eyes were lazy and sleepy and probably just wishing 'Human, die and let me sleep'. "Yes, it will be the best if I start with the ones I actually have a picture".Her hands searched trough the small amount of pictures she had going around,not that her family was exactly big either. The first one was a picture of her father, with his dazzling blue eyes looking straight to the camera with his usual closed face, flocks of white starting to appear along his thick black hair and fashionable goatee.She grabbed her quill and started writing a small profile of him, along with his age (34 years),full name and specialty. "Okay Nimus, give me a meow if this is bad, keep quiet if it's good. Theodore Ferguson is a former Slytherin student and currently work as the alchemy professor in the Durmstrang Institute. At the age of 20 he wrote'Alchemy for Dummies', a starting guide for newcomers, especially muggleborns, towards the subject. He married at the age of 18 with Cosette Beaufils, a former Beauxbatons student...and that's it." But she frowned when Nimus let out a small meow, closing her eyes and touching her forehead.She was redoing this subject for the third time already!

"What do you want me to write, Nimus?My bloody feelings so everyone in the class can see? Okay then, I'll give you my perspective of my family:Theodore Ferguson and Cosette Beaufils met three months after their graduations in a book shop. Cosette, whom I call 'medusa', but during my young age I used to refer to  as 'mom', was enrolled in a program with the Magic Ministry to fill the parcel of foreigners trainees and dad was doing self-study on alchemy and one thing led to another and suddenly they were married. Married! They knew each other for only two months and they were getting married!" she said almost desperate. How come they have been so reckless? They knew nothing about each other, but claimed to be so drunk in love that they needed the other to exist."And not only that, after not one year of marriage, they had a baby. They had me because somewhere in their twisted minds, it would be okay to deliver a baby into this world! Have I mentioned they knew each other for only two months?" And people questioned why she was like this, probably make bad decisions was in her genes!

She collapsed on her bed, staring at the ceiling with her arms wide open, blinking a few times to process her confession. Lo had always been bothered by this story,if they at least planned the things ahead, maybe her life could be different.Maybe she would never spend the Christmas in her house alone with her brother, cooking pizza and trying to avoid the fact that all the other families were having a normal meal with laughter and gifts. Perhaps her mother wouldn't look at her like she was not worth it, like she was a bag full of scum.

"The only good thing they came up with was Matthew, at least they got it right with him". Matthew. Her young brother that had to live with her grandmother because of her parents work, the small being she loved so much that would move mountains and oceans just to keep him safe and happy. He was the main influence in her life, why she wanted to become great. Why she wanted to conquer.

Because Matty was young and a bit too naive, he never realized what was going inside their family: they all put up an act of 'We are happy together'. Perhaps that was the reason she liked Lily so much, because she reminded her a lot of her brother.Lo grabbed a picture, a picture of a young Cosette and a young Theodore, beautiful girl and handsome boy."I don't want to become anything like them" she said. Her father did what he could but it wasn't enough,they used their work as a escape when they really had to face their problems and try to fix things.But they were too stubborn to ever admit a mistake or to know when to back away.
