Merry Xmas! Catalyst.
Winter holidays comes to an end & I'll head back to Catalyst tomorrow, where we code intensely 6 days a week 11 hours a day. It's great diving into software engineering full time. Our curriculum is quite ambitious. But we're in good hands because our curriculum designer, Marcus, is the best and most compassionate teacher I know in any field. He designed code class for anyone who wants to learn code during hack week at Twitter.
Hilarious! At Catalyst, we run two day sprints for each project, most of the time with a partner doing pair programming. One of the best things about Catalyst (aside from it's amazing instructors) is the guests who come into our class to work with us. These guests come into our class super passionate about teaching & mentoring. They help us so so much. We've been blessed with engineers and designers from Twitter, OkCupid, Adobe, Mozilla, Wal-Mart Labs, Coursera, Tapjoy, Code For America, & Roma Tre University.
