Today's Rex's first Adoptaversary!
Two days after Cody came home, we intentionally wanted to adopt them close together so Cody wouldn't have much time to establish his territory first. They were both slightly older kittens, but still kitten enough for the desire to play with each other to win out over anything else. Despite having come from completely different backgrounds, they are to this day best buds, and really reaffirmed to me how much happier kittens are with a same age playmate!
Rex started out super nervous and scared, but once he opened up he's become the cuddliest cat I've ever had. He sleeps next to or on top of me every night, and is a limp noodle who often won't wake up even if picked up.
It's also funny because while Cody just got darker overall as he aged, Rex's snowshoe patterns mean that he got sharper contrasts between his darker fur and lighter fur. When he came to us, he was sorta just soft beige overall and his mask was a pretty light color, making him kinda blurry lookin. But now his white throat and hind leg thigh highs are super vibrant, as is his dark mask. He's grown into a real pretty boy!
