Insert Caswren background spew here.
So I decided that Synial and Caswren are from the same family, a higher class of mages. Cas is Syn's younger by a a couple hundred years, give or take. Syn is from the more prominent branch of the main family while Cas is from a smaller branch, not quite the bottom of the barrel, but close.
Cas spent a lot of time around Syn and her siblings when she was younger, due to the fact that Cas' parents wished for a higher status, so they spent a lot of time sucking up and the like.
Cas was always enthralled by Syn, because Syn is very pretty and had a "I take none of this shit" attitude. And the boys really seemed to like Syn, like getting her gifts, offering to be her husband, that whole thing (little did Cas know it was all marriages arranged by Syn's parents). Cas wanted to be that pretty and that loved.
WELL. Once rejected, several of the boys were like "oh hey, it's a family member and she seems hella desperate, let's go and test that out." SO Caswren was preyed upon by a few of the guys, until one actually stuck with her.
However, the one that stuck was somewhat of a bad boy and got in trouble. Deep, dark trouble. So because Caswren was so in love with him, she made a dark pact with some bad people, that ended up costing her (more than her) arm, and a huge chunk of dat soul. She basically had to fight to trade her mage powers in for warlock powers (blah whatever details).
So after she lost an arm and had her newly acquired demons help fix her up, she went back home, happy and exhausted that she had saved this (jerk-ass) boyfriend of hers. HOWEVER, he was eh about the arm, but once he found out she was no longer a mage, he knew his meal ticket was gone. Once the family found out, Caswren was disowned. But hey, that's fine, she did it for love and he'll stay by her side, right?
NAH. Once that happened, Mr. Boyfriend no longer cared and did all his dirty work out in the open. It was when Caswren caught him with his "best guy friend ever", that he finally told her she was garbage for doing what she did and that he, in fact, never loved her. But that's okay, for it sent Cas into a blind rage and she killed them both.
And thus, this brings us to the lovely Caswren we have today.
