Should he say they had done something they shouldn’t have?
Lingering touches that weren’t from Celty still warm on the doctor’s skin.
Cheeks flushed. Shinra drew in a deep breath, struggled to keep his guilty conscience from saying things he shouldn’t repeat.
“You must have been really drunk if you forgot.”
They both had been drunk, but he could remember what happened, remembered the way Izaya had crumbled for the briefest moment–how that break in his mask had drawn Shinra in.
“The usual happened, Izaya. You came over and went on about me being a bad friend. If there was anything different it would be that we started to drink.”
