Discard.
A glass of red wine beside her, Kate sat across from Castle at his desk, reclining casually, one leg resting over the other, multi-colored chips in stacks between them. Itâs safer to play in his office, just on the off chance Martha or Alexis might drop in, and either of them are caught in a state of undress or in the process of something even more intimate. Putting their brains together to build theory or against one another in any competitive avenue always did things to her, not to mention the wine sluicing around in her system.Â
Despite being relaxed and unwinding after a long day, her heels were still on, more layers to peel off during their game of strip poker. Her blouse was already unbuttoned, giving him the slightest peak down her shirt whenever she leaned forward to procure cards, or place chips for a bet, necklace glinting in the low light of the room nestled between the smooth slight curve of her breasts.
She kept herself cool, composed, years of staring down criminals helping Kate to develop a decent poker face, at least she liked to think it was but Castle had a knack for getting underneath her skin, in more ways than one and as much as she hated to admit it he could read her well. That still wouldnât stop her from playing aggressively, full of pride, he brought out her competitive side and she didnât want to lose, especially to him.Â
A predatory determination glinted in her eyes when they dipped to survey her cards before lifting and locking back on Castleâs, teeth digging into her lower lip. âReady to lose both your clothes and the game?â she murmured, licking her lips and drawing his attention to them. Nothing wrong with a little distraction.Â
Her own concentration wasnât shot for the moment, but she knew it would be.. thing was she knew she could handle distraction better then he could, and she was counting on making this a little bit of fun for the both of them.
