Hey there. I'm looking at northwestern as my first choice for college right now. I'm a junior, soon to be senior. What inside look can I get from you? I'm looking at majoring in English with writing a/o environmental science (policy track). Thanks.
Hey castieldeansamgabriel! I’m not majoring in either of those fields, so I don’t have much expertise on them, sorry! As for an inside look, I would say that taking a look at the atmosphere of a college is extremely important. In specifics of how NU is different from other colleges, I think there is a highly accomplished student body at NU. This is both good and bad - most people I meet are very intelligent, but this obviously makes academics harder. Academics are competitive and extracurriculars, interestingly, are too. Being an introvert can be difficult because friendships take effort (in all colleges and for the rest of your life!) The quarter system goes by really fast and can be a struggle to keep up with. However, it’s quite nice if you’re unsure of your major, or are hoping to add on majors/minors.Â
Let me know if you have any more specific questions!
