💌Secret Valentine 💖

Hi love! I’ve actually have been fighting a cold all weekend so that was no fun, but the weather has been nice. It hasn’t been too cold and has been pretty sunny so that been nice. My windows are perfect for catching the sunrise so it’s been nice to wake up with sun on my face!

Oh yes! I love ferrets! They are one of my favorite animals, next to the lynx. I love how silly ferrets are, they do this thing call the weasel war dance where when they are very excited they will jump and dance all around and it is honestly one of the cutest things ever! I read a while back that wild weasels, like the ermine, polecats etc, all dance when they catch prey! It’s that the best? They are celebratinggggggg their successful huntttttt omg! Yeah I love ferrets.

Fun Fact: I used to, and still really do, want two ferrets named Will Ferret and Duke Weaselton. I came up with those names I believe when I was like 16 or 17 and yeah I still think they are the best names for ferrets lol. Maybe oneday I can have my own little carpet shark.

Honestly, I could see my animagus form being a ferret. I like to think I’m a bit silly and fun to be around. Also, I like hoarding things and freak out when I’m excited lol Or, I would probably be a Lynx. I love the look of Lynxes and I also am pretty introverted and reserved if I don’t know you. I like my space and being alone while also having a solid group of friends I spend my time with. I feel like one of the two would definitely fit me the best. I love hearing what people think their animagus form would be since I feel like everyone has unique ideas.

Charlotte - Lilac/Cream Point Siamese Cat

I honestly am not sure if Charlotte would be able to become an animagus, since she couldn’t say the incantation. I also don’t think she would have the desire to even if she could. Though if she were able to, I definitely think she would be a lilac or cream Siamese cat. They are extremely intelligent, and while the few siamese cat’s I’ve met have been very vocal and talkative, they are also huge cuddle bugs and I think that reflects Charlotte. Also, they are just so soft and sweet.

Diana - Sunset Moth

Diana’s pratronus is a jellyfish, but I think her animagus form would be (maybe this is too on the nose) a Sunset Moth. Have you seen them?? They are a gorgeous kaleidoscope of color that I think fit Diana so well!

Akira - White-Tailed Eagle

Akira is actually an Animagus (fun fact!) He is a White-Tailed Eagle and the reason I chose this for him, is really for the fact that they are powerful birds and Akira has a deeply powerful ancestry that I haven’t quite explored yet, but I have thoughts you guys. Also, I learned a while back that these eagles don’t get their distinctive markings until they are like 8 years old I believe, and I felt that correlates nicely with the fact that Akira didn’t get his magic until he was older.

Who loves giving gifts vs. planning experiences?

Charlotte loves giving thoughtful gifts; she’ll gift things you didn’t even know you needed, but then can’t go without them. Diana plans experiences, a scavenger hunt to all your date spots that year, a picnic or coffee date to a poetry reading. Ben gives gifts as well but more so random stuff that makes him think of you. Salem will make a fancy dinner that feels like a michelin star restaurant. Akira is more of the stay-at-home type and watch a movie and make pizzas. Imogen is a gift giver too, fun food and games to try out.

Who is secretly the most romantic?

Salem, he looks stoic and nonchalant about romance and stuff but is very thoughtful and loving.

Who pretends not to care about Valentine’s Day but absolutely does?

I would say Salem is also the one who puts on a front of not caring for Valentine’s day as much but then he goes all out. He loves his boys and sometimes has a hard time showing it but he is a romantic at heart.

What kind of soft/comfort scene do you love writing for them?

I love writing soft, everyday moments. One of my all-time favorite chapters is chapter 12 of The Light In My Darkness. I loved writing Ominis waking up beside Charlotte and messing up her braid, and also them just exploring Brigadoon and being together. I also love the dads!Sebinis and how they learn how to raise a child as imperfect people themselves. I love writing the menotomy of everyday.

Bonus curiosity: favorite Michael Vey character? 👀 I love discovering new books through people.

how to fix dark circles? I'm stuck between believing that I just need to meet the habitual goals of staying hydrated, getting quality sleep, and getting proper nutrients in but I'm also afraid that they're just genetic :((( Maybe it's also because I'm a gamer so my eyes are straining at a large screen alot of the time.....

For me here, I’ve been dealing with lots of snow. How has the weather been for you?

I finished reading “The Light in My Darkness”  and I absolutely love the story, especially Charlotte and Ominis getting close. I would like to comparison to them being Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. The chapters that you’ve posted it has been very beautifully written, especially the emotions between Charlotte and Ominis especially in the early stages of being newlywed. They doubt their hopes they’re everything.

I like the other chapters that you have including a walk down memory lane, whether or maybe during Charlotte and Ominis time at Hogwarts or Ominis time as an obliviator.

Would you be continuing in the future writing more chapters including flashbacks of Charlotte and Ominis during their time in Hogwarts?

Now my questions for you is I’ve also seen you have a lot of different characters for different drabbles. My question for you is if it is an absolute snowstorm outside what would your characters do for the day. Would they stay indoors or enjoy the high pile snow?

My other question would be what Charlotte or any character you created What would they do for Valentine’s Day?

Hello! Happy to see you again! Sorry its taken me a few days to get to this

I live in an area that usually gets quite a bit of snow, but this year has been very dry for us. It’s been sunny all week, though it hasn’t been above 35F. Very cold here lol

It makes me so happy you’ve been loving The Light in My Darkness! I definitely compare them to Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, they are two people finding who they are in life and what that means for them and their love. Thank you so much for your sweet words, they truly mean so much to me!

I would very much like to continue their story, its been almost a year since I’ve updated it officially >-< Words have been very hard for me this past year and finding the inspiration to write has been scarce as well. I think about Charlotte and Ominis a lot, but I am not sure when a new chapter will be out. The idea of more flashbacks to their time at Hogwarts might be a good fresh reset.

These are good questions!

For a snow day, Charlotte would probably bake treats to give to her neighbors, she would make all sorts and decorate them too in little boxes. She would bundle up and pass them out, see if there is anything she can help them with before scurrying back home to curl under a blanket by the fire and getting back to her book.

Diana would probably spend the day warm inside, wrapped up in multiple sweaters and blankets, painting a snowy scene with a cup of warm tea nearby. She is a homebody for sure and does not like the cold.

Imogen would spend the day helping out around Hogmeade, opening up her shop to anyone who needs to escape the chill. Anne would help her with handing out blankets and tea.

Ben would be out having snowball fights and sledding and would probably force Ominis on a sled with him down a big hill lol

As I’m writing these out, I realized just how similar my characters are to me haha. I am a homebody and don’t really go out in the snow, and I feel like that reflects back to my characters!

For Valentines Day, Charlotte and Ominis would spend the whole day together reflecting back on the love they share. They would make breakfast together, go to a bookstore, each find a book the other would like, have a nice dinner in and maybe take an evening stroll to round it out. They would talk about things that happened the past year, when they felt the most loved, what they appreciate the most about the other, where they want to be next year.

My fave character is such a tricky topic but ill do my best!

Charlotte is definitely up there, just with her being my first and getting me into the fandom. I love who she is as a person and I'm really wanting to explore her lore and family more this year!

Diana is also up there as I love the AU I created with her. I feel she is so unique and unlike other character. I'm very proud of the way I write her character and dribbles, it's different for me and I really like that. Plus I love Sandman!Ominis!

Also Ben is a fave, mostly due to how rich and alive he feels to me, his family is one I've put a lot of thought into

For non-HL related, my fave is definitely Dakota. I love him and really want to explore his story more this year too!
