In the ruined future of my Apocalypse AU, all but one remaining city have been destroyed. This civilization is called Haven, and is the home of Casper Groves. His ancestors had a hand in the founding of the city, making him a very high profile person by association.

Despite this and the taboos against leaving the Haven walls, he's always had a strange obsession with the infected dwelling outside. He would constantly skip lessons when he was little to go on pretend monster hunting adventures with his best friend, Blair.

One day he took it a bit too far.

"Borrowing" the city's Cosmos Ring to use for protection, he and Blair exited the Haven, only to be ambushed by a rotting corpse creature with a missing face, arm, and tail(s?)When it leaped at him, he help up the ring to block it's attack. But its blow never landed. It froze, staring at the ring as it glowed brightly in his hand, and backed away slowly, retreating into the distance.

This confused Casper, so much so that the creature's strange behavior was all he could think about once he and Blair fled back to the Haven...
