Drew looked over the menu based on their discussions of wine and picked out two options. He always liked having a back up in case the restaurant had run out of what he wanted or in case the occasion called for a different option. That was Drew in most cases. He liked to plan. It helped him feel better to have alternatives. Uncertainty was always a detested foe for Drew. If he could control a situation and control a few variables it often meant better outcomes for him. Drew set his menu down. “That’s good,” he said, leaning forward, “Since I have a wide variety of tastes.” Drew’s features were alight with the fun he was having. “I hope it’s as good as you say.”
The sommelier came by and began with a small greeting and introduction of the days offerings. Drew simply looked to Caspar, allowing him to take the lead here, as if Drew himself couldn’t do it. He liked to appear more demure than he actually was in meetings like this. At least until he got a feel for the men he met. Once their order was taken and the wine brought to the table Drew swirled the fine liquid and inhaled the bouquet. “I’d ask if we should make a toast but usually I like to accomplish something before I celebrate it.” He gave a small smile. “So…what brought you to Lustre?” The website that brought them together was small but the name was catchy. It was niche. Like their clientele. Drew didn’t know if speaking of it was in bad taste but he didn’t want to pretend that’s not where they met. That they both didn’t know what this was. Besides, he wanted to know why a man like Caspar was seeking an arrangement like this. As far as Drew could tell, he could get a guy just by being himself. Though as with Drew’s case, appearances could be deceiving. “If you don’t mind my asking.”
Caspar was familiar enough with the restaurants usual offerings that he only skimmed the menu briefly before making his decision, placing the menu back face down, smiling at the others words. “Oh, I like to think I have the experience to know what I’m doing” He responded, before the sommelier approached, detailing the offerings of the day. Caspar noted Drews seeming reticence with a slightly raised eyebrow, but waited until their orders were placed and the wine set in front of them to speak up, taking his own glass of wine. “Perhaps at the end of the meal then, hm?” He asks, before shrugging briefly at the question. It’s one he’s used to being asked at dinners such as these, but not everyone liked the answer he had to give.Â
“A friend of mine suggested it might suit me. As to why I ended up there in the greater sense - well. I have a large amount of money, a desire to spoil those close to me, and my job can make dating in the so called “standard” way difficult at the best of times.” Mostly because he was attached to the job at the hip, but he wasn’t about to flood Drew with information that fast- and besides, he wasn’t about to stat getting into the fine details right from the start. “It seemed fairly natural to seek out a website like Lustre, considering.” that and the fact that Caspar had, over the years, become used to people dating him for the finances he had available - sites like lustre just meant both parties would be on the same page as far as he was concerned.Â
