It is ironic because the fire fighters have been working hard to save the hotel from the vicious fire that spread over 200,000 acres. The casino refused the firefighters to access even basic facilities that are crucial for maintaining their personal hygiene.

The casino has reasoned that they have lost too much money because of the slump in customers and by allowing firefighters to access its top end facilities; they cannot afford a larger slump in earnings. However, it is worth adding that the casino is not receiving many major guests because all the roads have been blocked owing to the massive fire. It is the firefighters who will ultimately help in clearing the place so that business can once again resume for the casino.

The casino has been lambasted for its short sightedness. Right now, it has not opened for general public. However, there are reporters who are stating that when the casino opens for public, it is likely to face huge criticism and this can reflect on its revenue as well. People are not likely to choose such casino companies that failed to provide even basic facilities to the firefighters who put their life on line to save the place.

Senator John Carona is pushing for a new gambling law which will allow opening 21 gaming and betting facilities in the state of Texas. This proposal is considered controversial by other lawmakers, like Committee Chairman Jim Pitts, which expressed the idea that the same proposal was taken in account in the past, but with no success.

Carona’s proposal is one step ahead, due to the fact that the establishments which are supposed to open will not only refer to land-based casinos, but also to race tracks, which is considered a much more comprehensive idea. The senator claimed that his new proposed law might probably suffer some changes and it is not sure how much money the gambling industry in Texas will generate.
