Washington Residents Vote for Legalization of Online Gambling
The Poker Players Alliance, a pro online poker group, has asked Washington citizens to vote for legalizations of online poker on a poll put up on the internet. The main question of the poll was if Washington lawmakers should allow internet gaming, considering that several states, like Nevada, have recently established regulatory systems referring to the gaming and betting industry.
The poll was put up yesterday and until today at noon, it showed that no less of 98% of the total respondents have voted in favor of legalization of online poker in Washington. Poker Players Alliance spokespeople said that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which was put forward in 2006, does not actually give a definition of the term of online gambling.
Thus, there is no certain proof that poker is actually a part of the gambling industry, Poker Players Alliance representatives saying that it is actually a decent game and that the government should not force people to act in a certain way and stop them for doing what entertains them the most, also stating that no one has to wager online for money if they don’t want to.
