Thank you so much! Favorite crochet hooks: Hands down it’s the clover amour hooks. They are so much nicer to my hands than the solid metal hooks, and the only minor quibble I have with them is the “neck” part of the hook between the actual hook and the handle is sometimes a little to short, but that’s something that happens with the toe of one pattern for baby booties that requires a dc16tog so it doesn’t come up that oftenFavorite yarn:Oh my gosh I LOVE fake fur yarn! It’s so fluffy! My favorite long fake fur is Caribou yarn by HiKoo, and my favorite fluffy-type yarn is Bernat’s Pipsqueak. For my regular amigurumi making, I usually end up using a mix of Red Heart, Vanna’s Choice, and Caron Simply Soft, with the occasional other yarn mixed in. For a shorter fluffy yarn, Yarn Bee’s Fur-Ever Style is also good (I always hold it double with another dk-ish weight yarn)Favorite pattern:Oh man that’s tough. Favorite I’ve written is probably the baby mammoth. Favorite I’ve bought…maybe Tod and Dot the bears, by Hookabee (aka ONE SQUARE FOOT OF BEAR) or the scale mail dragon pattern?Favorite needle:I have some bent-tip metal yarn needles and I love them so much. They are worth paying the little extra, and I don’t break them like I kept doing with the plastic yarn needlesGeneral favorites: My favorite thing about crochet is taking a hook and some yarn and just making something. It’s really cool to know that something now exists in the world that would not exist without you deciding to make it, especially when I’m writing new patternsI also really like handing out little crochet creatures to strangers having a bad day, especially bored kids in lines or waiting rooms. I always have at least one little amigurumi in my bag to give away (I also always ask parental permission, just in case). It makes me feel somewhere between Santa Claus and one of those fairies in fairy tales that are like “You helped a poor old woman, so I will grant you a boon!”, ya know?
